“Next thing you know, you're asking the females this and now you've become a pervert”

The females are the only ones I want to know this about. :)

Their character sounds like it was taller than yours.

reply

I'm sure some must do:

I'm not technically a dwarf but I am small and skinny and I do fit into kids clothes.

reply

I wasn't going to ask him because that would have been inconsiderate. But I was looking at his clothes. It looked like oversized children's clothes. So I got to thinking (since the thought never occurred to me before) where do they buy their clothes? I don't see any dwarf clothing stores. I don't see a section of clothing for dwarves in clothing stores either.

There is big and tall, plus size and petite. No dwarf size though.

reply

There are specialty clothes stores for them, but I wouldn't be surprised if they bought children's clothes too since they're cheaper.

reply

I've never seen a speciality store for dwarves in the city that I live in. So he must have his clothes tailored or he buys children clothes. Not having a speciality store for dwarves is kind of rude imo.

reply

"Not having a speciality store for dwarves is kind of rude imo."

It's not rude; there's just not a big enough market for it. There are only about 400 dwarfs born in the entire US each year (about 1 out of every 10,000 births).

reply

Well where are they supposed to shop? They don't matter? Everything is about the money in this awful country.

reply

"Well where are they supposed to shop?"

Any place that sells children's clothes, obviously.

"They don't matter?"

That's a non sequitur.

"Everything is about the money in this awful country."

So you think people should open stores that might only get a few customers per year, while having to pay all of the expenses of running a store, just to provide something that's already widely available in the form of kid's clothing? I think you should open such a store and tell us all how it works out.

reply

They're online stores and have a global market. Just google "little people clothes" and the stores will pop-up.

They want to be fashionable and wear adult clothes too like seedy lingerie.

Did you know there are Little People Conventions? I bumped into one a long time ago. This one has a fashion show:
https://www.lpaonline.org/2024-conference

BTW, the polite term is "little people".

reply

Well I call children "little people" because they are indeed little people. The correct term for a dwarf is dwarf.

I'm glad that dwarves have conventions and their own subculture and society. Thanks for letting me know about the online stores although there should be a store that these dwarves can go inside to shop like a normal human being.

reply

Did you ask such an undignified question to his face, or did you save the casual ignorance just for us?

reply

So people can't be curious where a dwarf buys their clothes because even thinking about their disability is insensitive? What planet are you from?

reply

I said nothing of the sort. Where are you from - Planet Blind Assumption?

If you were so curious, what was stopping you from treating him as a fellow human being and striking up a friendly conversation when that would have taken less effort than defending your ignorance to strangers on a movie message board?

reply

💯

I knew it! 😂

reply

Because he was busy! And that would be rude. Don't censor my free speech on here. I'm warning you. If you don't like my posts, use the ignore feature.

reply

NOBODY IS CENSORING YOU...AND YOU'RE THE ONLY MARSHMALLOW HITTING IGNORE ON PEOPLE AND ISSUING WARNINGS.

reply

It's "rude" to approach someone in public now? That speaks more to your method of approach (or lack thereof based on your own admission) as well as an absence of politeness and tact. What would you have done differently with this hypothetical person if given the chance?

Also, no one is censoring you on this site. You are free to continue posting/jumping to wild unfounded conclusions/etc. I will personally make sure that your drivel continues to flow unimpeded.

This ⬆️ !!

reply

"Do they shop for clothes in the children's section?"

In all likelihood. What other option is there for off-the-shelf clothes that more or less fit without alterations?

Most of them are heavier than average children of the same height, so they might need the fat kids' sizes (AKA "husky" sizes). Many of them have different proportions than children too, but that's a minor issue that can usually be worked around. For example, many of them have shorter arms and/or a longer torso than an average child of the same height has, but that doesn't matter for short-sleeve shirts and it's no big deal to roll up long sleeves that are only a couple/few inches too long.

reply

They get their tunics from the village blacksmith.

reply

What about their battle axes?

reply

PRETTY SURE PETER DINKLAGE MAKES THOSE USING THE POWER OF A DYING STAR.

Your right!
