Who Doesn’t Like Creedence Clearwater Revival? “Bad Moon Rising” Is My Favorite Ringtone

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21053478/

Being a teen in the late ‘50’s & early ‘60’s the group was after my time. Later, as the Viet Nam war was raging & people I knew who came home in body bags, I learned to appreciate their sound along with Bob Dylan.

I saw lead singer John Fogerty in Dublin a few years ago - he was awesome.

reply

Yes, I've seen him a couple of times and he puts on a rockin' good show!

reply

I couldn’t get over the energy levels used!

reply

I was definitely not expecting the massive rockitude the first time I saw him. Was a great surprise.

reply

He had his son on stage playing guitar at the gig I was at.

reply

I've never seen his son play. Is he good?

reply

He was a real chip off the old block.

reply

Peter Wolf of The J. Geils Band was known for his high energy on stage. Prior to setting up their concert, one of his requests was to have vitamin b-12 injections available.

reply

Excellent 💉

reply

I don't listen to much Muse, but a few videos I've seen of them seem to show they jam out pretty good live.

reply

Oh yeah! That crowd was mostly college students and it was really boisterous.

reply

NOTING is boisterous when you are around killjoy.

reply

I have a CCR live which doesn't sound that much different than what is on their albums.

Does/did JF play it note for note and sounds exactly like the album or does he do anything different like more jamming to make it better as a live show?

reply

He performs the songs pretty close for the most part but will go into some extended jams at certain points.

reply

Chicago is another great band that sounds just as good live as their studio versions.

reply

It's the one band everyone in my family likes.

reply

I thought it was funny that they sued John Fogerty when he went solo because he sounded too much like himself.

reply

Did you know Neil Young was sued by Geffen records for NOT sounding like himself, lol (Rock Trivia Andy).

reply

Fogerty ultimately prevailed in that case😎

And last year, he finally got all the rights to his CCR songs fully restored!

reply

It should have been thrown out from the judge’s bench before it began!

reply

Are you serious? I was not aware of the lawsuit. They sued because Fogerty “sounded too much like himself”? Life took me elsewhere so CCR was put on the back burner. I never checked to why Fogerty split. It seems to happened with groups. Look how the Everly Brothers were apart for years.

reply

I love CCR!

reply

I was a redneck/pothead back then, played drums in a band and we did several of their hits. Yeah, I love their sound. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs99a-5vgA0

reply

You must have been cool.

WTF happened to you?

reply

Jack Nicholson personifies "cool" to me in the movie Wolf.

My band played in a bar one night frequented by bikers, farmers and other assorted rednecks. Ironically, it was named The Pink Door. You would think, with that kind of a crowd, that a fight would break out any minute. Nope. Everyone just had a good time drinking and dancing. Free beer for me all night, some extra cash in my pocket and the joy of playing my drums.

What happened to me is people like you entering my life.

reply

Jack Nicholson is indeed cool in everything he does. Wow, we agree on something!

Guess I got under your skin, huh?
It would be best to avoid each other, we pollute the boards with our mutual dislike and neither one of is the backing down sort, both too bullheaded.

reply

"...under your skin..."
More obvious parroting me.

reply

You are not impressive enough to parrot, it's a fairly well known expression.

reply

Their song Effigy seems like it was made for right now:

reply

Still thinking about last week's trash.
YOU have mental problems.

reply

Coming from one of his brainwashed followers. You enabled him for months until he finally turned on you, pissed you off also. You have absolutely no sense of how to accurately read people. You're actually a lot like him, a pathological liar and manipulative ego-stroker.

reply

More lies from you, you seem obsessed with dead floaters, why don't you go hang out with the bodies?
