Here is my leg workout routine.

I just started getting back to the gym and working out hard. πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ πŸ’ͺ

Tomorrow is Leg day:

4x5 Squat
4x5 Leg Press
3x20 Calf Raises
3x10 Leg Curl
2x10 Bulgarian Split Squats
2x10+ Lunges

Suggestions? Advice? Or what is your leg workout routine?

I dunno. I figure it must be something.

I thought this was going to be a joke.

reply

Since you asked:

How does a narcissist exercise?
By doing mirror curls – lifting themselves up with every glance.

reply

Then why did the mirror break first when I looked into it?

reply

Because Kowalski was standing behind you and he has that affect on mirrors?

reply

Now I'm questioning what he was doing behind me without my knowledge.

reply

Waiting for you to drop the soap - for all that is holy man, stay dirty!

reply

I workout my legs by walking around and twice a week spend 15 minutes running on the threadmil

reply

I do the same. But lifting weights is more addicting and fun. πŸ’ͺ

reply

Yeah but with so little time for anything, I'd rather do other workouts like chest, shoulders, biceps, really anything but leg. I've always had muscular legs so, I'm good without the leg day

reply

The one I see people doing at the gym, that's impressive is the standing jump. They jump up onto a platform like 3-4ft????? Anyway whenever I walk by and see people doing that, its super impressive.

reply

Another thing that's tough is frog jumps

cool!

reply

I crank up the resistance level on my stationary bike. I prefer to work out at home instead of a gym.

reply

In addition to your list I use a Hip Abductor Machine.

reply

Never tried that.

What are your thoughts on Bulgarian Split Squats? I've only done it 2x before and it's absolutely brutal and exhausting. But I feel crazy sore on my quads and glutes, so it must be working. I love that soreness feeling. πŸ’ͺ

reply

The only thing I can think of that’s more brutal than Bulgarian Split Squats is the Rowing Machine (from which there is no hiding place).

My regime is: -
Monday - Upper body
Tuesday - Legs/cardio
Wednesday - Upper body
Thursday - Legs/cardio
Friday - Upper body
Saturday - Rest
Sunday - Bike

Now are you the kind of member who ties up the equipment acting like you're working out when really all you are you're doing is surfing your Smartphone like everyone else does I see, that and having the Bluetooth hanging out of your ear along with headphones to match?? This is the one thing that drives me crazy at the Gym and so much, I'm considering purchasing a home workout system to avoid this nonsense??

reply

You’ll be relieved to know that I never take any electronic equipment into the gym with me. I go in, do my stuff and then go.

reply

Why are you so involved with other people's lives? I'm sure everyone at your gym will be happy if you stay home.

reply

In fairness, if someone just sits on a piece of equipment for an extended period of time and merely plays with their phone the whole time, it does make me wonder why they are there in the first place.

reply

The teenagers are the worst with this. Of course, they’re also the demographic that least needs the gym

there is no reason to do heavy squats or presses unless you are a professional body builder or power lifter. say goodbye to your knees doing bulgarian squats. there is a reason you never see people over 50 doing squats in the gym.

reply

I’m 57, so…..

reply

ok? I assume you are regularly squatting 3 bills?

reply

I don’t know what 3 bills means πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

reply

ONLY HE DOES...BUT AREN'T YOU IMPRESSED HOW HE USED TO LIFT,BRO?

reply

I don’t know, I have no idea πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

reply

yeah bro, lol. a bill is a 45 lb plate. or you can call them wheels if you put 45 pound plates on the leg press.

reply

Ah, an American phrase. I never went to the gym when I lived there so this is the first time I’ve heard this.

reply

I did. I used to be pretty strong back in the day. but as I have learned now, no one cares unless you win Mr Olympia.

reply

Rubbish! I'm no Arnold Schwarzenegger, but I know Squats are actually a very good exercise that offers a full-body workout and benefits your body. Not just bodybuilders or powerlifters. There are many "older" people that do the exercise. The reason you don't see people do them is because they suck at it.

If you have pain in your knees doing the exercise then you're not doing it properly. Proper form is crucial for gains.

there is nothing wrong with squats, I said heavy squats are pointless. it wont do you any good when you are 60 and your knees and back hurts.

you would be better off doing 4 or 5 sets of 15 reps. there are lots of exercises you can do to save your knees and back.

I lifted heavy for all of my 20's and 30's and into my 40's. you cant tell now that I even worked out. I am still big but not very strong.

reply

most physiotherapists would say never to do squats.
