Movies that scared you as a kid

Pinocchio, the Disney one. Probably the scariest Disney film for me as a child-- funny enough, it's now my favorite Disney movie because it's so disturbing.

Also, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids-- the insects in that freaked me out, among all the other incidents those kids ran into.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone freaked me out during the scenes in the woods, specifically the scene with the unicorn blood. I was like seven at the time and watched the scene through my hands.

SPOILERS:

Mel Gibson is a test pilot who crashes and is frozen. Years later they take him out of the cryogenic state. He doesn't remember anyone and everyone he once knew is dead. At the end of the film Mel Gibson begins to age really quickly (seemingly within about 20 minutes) and he is rapidly dying.

E.T. always scared the crap out of me when I was a kid and apparently, Spielberg's original intention was for it to be a horror movie lol.

Ghostbusters

I was really into Stephen King, hence why most of the ones that scared me were King movies, like Tommy Knockers and It. That said, The Vanishing (1993) really made my skin crawl as a kid. Oh, and of course The Blair Witch Project. Idk why I was allowed to watch any of these movies, I don't.

Salem's Lot (1979) scared the ever loving shit out of me as a kid. I think it was my first horror movie.

The scene where the kid floats up to the window was the one that would get to me.

Same here, the kid smiling and scratching at the window haunted me.

That, and the first time we see Mr. Barlow's face and nightmare inducing teeth.
