I watched 25 movies in 10 days.

Is that a lot? Is it too many? Do I have a problem?

reply

[deleted]

Not in these Covid days of lockdown.

reply

Two and a half movies a day is better than watching two and a half men all day.

reply

Can we get the list? I might try the Standish challenge.

I am legitimately surprised by that list. I have only seen one of those movies. A simple favour. Great movie. I actually watched it twice. But yeah, I will download and watch all those flicks. Cheers cuz!

reply

I will download and watch all those flicks.

I would advise against it. Most were mediocre at best. The only one that I really enjoyed was "The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet".

reply

I don't mind watching mediocre films to tell you the truth. My quest for watching flicks I haven't seen trumps the fact that the movie may be kinda shitty.

reply

Just IMDb'd that young and prodigious movie. Looks good.

reply

lousy movies for the most part. are you comatose?

reply

seeing the obscure, strange, and random list. I think it's fine and great.

Just lucky you got the time.

Dont think I've seen a single one from the list.

reply

What's movie #26?

reply

PARENTS....GREAT FLICK.

reply

If it was beastiality, scat or necrophilia then maybe.

reply

Scat?

reply

You really don’t want to know, trust me.

reply

In Australia skat (I spell it with a K) means the hangover derived from partaking in drugs. Mainly in the stimulant variety.

reply

Just don’t Google it or if you do make sure you delete your search history.

reply

Is it like porn where people shit on each other?

reply

There’s some stuff you can’t unsee.

Yeah, you're not watching nearly enough. Amateur.

reply

lol

reply

i've watched 310 features & shorts so far this year.

This year? As in 2021? That's more than 5 a day. Although, you did include shorts, so that might not be as impressive as it sounds.

reply

i just did a rough count, & it looks like there are about 95 short films in that number.

reply

Wow! That IS impressive.

reply

well, it might seem a little obsessive, but this is my idea of a good time...

reply

What do you do while you watch?

Drink, eat, smoke, lie down, just sit and stare?

Because I, will start with something salty then I’ll go out blaze come back, continue and do sweet. Then I’ll drink a little and then go out again. Then I’ll watch a little bit more, pause, play NHL 20, come back and finish the film. So a 2h movies takes me about 3hrs to watch. (I watch all my movies between 8pm and midnight when the kids are sleeping)

reply

honestly, i wish i could still smoke. my favourite thing in the world used to be getting a bit baked, then throwing on the headphones and zoning out to music. i think the biggest reason why i don't care about music the way i used to is because i can't smoke anymore (makes me fixate, & get deeply bummed out/paranoid/other various bad things).

basically, my movie watching goes in waves.

on the weekend i'll do some serious films first. your subtitled things, your arty european things. the kinds of films you really have to focus on. and i'll actually watch those. except for the standard interruptions to fill my coffee or whatever, i sit and stare and focus on them.

then i'll move into lighter stuff for the late afternoon & evening. i'll watch a comic book movie or an action film, something where i might browse through twitter or play a game on my phone during the 'talky' moments.

and then i'll close out the evening with b-movie trash that i might barely pay attention to while i have dinner & struggle to stay awake.

sorry if that's too much detail!

reply

No no, I’m curious like that. Love the details. We are all humans and we sharing is key IMO. I dig your process too. Unfortunately, I can’t stay focus long enough to watch more than 1 movie each day. Even that I can barely ever do...

reply

Indeed it is. My attention span is all over the place so I average about 5 a week.

reply

I've only logged 121 films so far this year.

reply

Not if you think you have a problem?

reply

That’s fine especially for right now during the time of the pandemic. My husband and I binged watched My Haunted House on our Travel Channel tv app on our Roku devise.
