Do you like to sleep with a window open during the cool seasons?
Obviously the temperature has to be somewhat moderate, but a lot of people like the cold, fresh air while others don't want to chill their surroundings that much.

shareNo, that would be really stupid at my latitude.
shareNo.
sharesure, if you mean temps in the 1-10c range. that's kinda my happy zone where i actually feel comfortable. i love sleeping cocooned in fairly heavy blankets in a nice crisp, borderline cold room.
shareWhat concerns me is if it's 35F-45F at night, what happens to the thermostat in my room? I don't want to keep heating the room while I have the window open.
shareYes. I have been known to keep my window cracked into the negative Celsius temperatures. I would rather be snuggled under a bunch of blankets in a cold room that under a sheet in a warm room.

I agree with this 100%
That actually sounds good, but getting the room back to a decent temp in the am seems a problem.
Unfortunately, I can't simply go into a different room and sip on warm coffee. I'm kind of stuck in this one room.
I do like the IDEA of a nice cool room at night, especially if I was snuggling with someone else. Our bodies are amazing generators of heat.
But the last woman I was interested in cohabiting with flatly stated she can't sleep when she's cold. Once said as soon as I left the bed it got cold.
And every morning I hear my housemates close their bedroom window and somehow I don't think they lower the heat much, (although I don't think they raise it much either, but I really can't do much about it either way).
I think if I had forced air heat, I would do things different, but I have this ambient ceiling heat, so it takes a while to warm things up, and I don't have programmable thermos that would click on at 5-6 in the am. Wish I did.
No, I'm security obsessed/paranoid. I don't sleep with it open, no matter what the temperature (of course, I'm in the UK, where we don't usually get the kind of weather that those of you in more exotic climes do).
shareI hear you...EVERY window and door MUST be locked and bolted every night on the first floor
Second story windows can be open at night during spring and autumn as I don't leave my ladders lying around the yard for a psycho or a thief to find
If you are obsessed with security I don't blame you, there are a lot of sickos out there
No, I'm like an angry old man about the heat AND the central air!
If no systems are on then you may open the windows as wide as you like, but I'm known to get quite grumpy when someone just lets my money fly out the window willy-nilly😠
Yeah, that has a lot to do with it. My default on the thermostats is 55F, and to set them I have to press a button and watch the digits drop or rise which isn't super convenient.
I wouldn't want to set them below 60F but if it's 36 outside like it is now, idk, it just doesn't work for me. (About 6 am here.)
Of course I do.
You have to remember however that I live in Miami, thus I welcome the time of year when I can turn off the A/C and open some windows.
In addition, cooler weather is so much kinder on the checkbook. It's nice to not have to send so much money to FPL every month.
Louisiana here and in the summers my power bill goes above 300 dollars a month easily. So yes, I’m always happy during the milder months when I can crack a window.
shareI guess I was thinking about people who choose to sleep with fresh cold air in their bedroom when it would be considered too chilly to be comfortable during waking hours.
shareI USED TO....SOME CREEP DRUNK ON TECATE KEPT CRAWLING IN AND TRYING TO SPOON WITH ME...COUGHSHOGUNCOUGH.
