Is Tenet worth watching?

Or is the convoluted plot a buzzkill?

reply

I built a robot in the 80's out of a cereal box. It seemed more real then "Interstellar".

Nolan is a hack.

However, I agree with him. I refuse to watch newly released movies in my living room. It deprives so many generations.

reply

Yeah he sucks

What do you mean?

Wtf are you talking about those are from months ago are you an idiot?

reply

The film hasnt changed any in the intervening months.

reply

Those threads are all still relevant, and answer your initial question thoroughly. The Tenet page has threads created or updated daily.

Posts about films made two decades ago are still relevant. That's why MovieChat imported the posts from IMDB forums before they were deleted there.

Lots of people hate Tenet. The biggest technical issue raised is that people cannot understand the dialogue spoken, so viewing it with Captions might help.

There is an entire world of MovietChat beyond the threads you create. You can even play the Stonekeeper game or post in Baker's Dozen. They are fun and you find out about hundreds of interesting films that were not blockbusters.

Sorry didn’t mean to be rude but with no search function I’m not sure how that’s responsible advice

reply

A Search function would help this site a LOT. The Tenet Discussion page on MovieChat is currently 15 pages long. https://moviechat.org/tt6723592/Tenet?page=1

It looks like the last three pages preceded its release (which is typical for a costly film). There are some links to critics' reviews, and some critics liked it.

For any film on here, people post about how great it is or how it is the worst film ever made. If there is something interesting to learn about a film that cost a lot to make, someone may have posted it on that film's Discussion page. I didn't realize that one of the stars (whose performance is being trashed) is Denzel Washington's son. Sadly, Discussions pages for smaller or older films have few postings on MovieChat.

I haven't seen Tenet and there are too many other things I can see and would rather see, on cable (On Demand or otherwise) or at an open theater. I would not see Tenet unless I had Closed Captions, so I could read what is being said. LOTS of complaints posted about not being able to understand the actors, regardless of the theater's quality.

"those are from months ago"

And yet MonStar had no trouble locating them.

"are you an idiot?"

A little harsh.

reply

Idk, when a guy told you you're an idiot and yet you keep coming back... perhaps not harsh enough?

Hell, people keep flocking into ANY and EVERY MovieBuff's thread. Why? Maybe they like it? People actually like being trolled, I guess *shrugs*

reply

I find a majority of his threads amusing, but there are occasions when I think things have gone too far. Ultimately, the guy is a genius level troll.

reply

We havent had his classic "Where did I say xyz" in this thread yet , my moneys on sometime tomorrow

reply

"Hell, people keep flocking into ANY and EVERY MovieBuff's thread. Why? Maybe they like it?"

I think sometimes we need to believe there's someone more moronic than us out there to feel better about ourselves. Deep down, we all know MovieBuff is a troll.

reply

Why are you taking an opinion poll regarding a movie from a director whom you've condemned again and again? If you already think he sucks, why would you bother watching his movies? Are you an idiot?

reply

Because there’s nothing else to watch?

reply

The plot is sorta interesting but it sets itself on fire with the total lack of internal logic.

So ... You are a reversed soldier in that end assault. You have reversed gear and reversed bullets. Those bullets are interacting with non reversed terrain and people. Bullets jumping back into your gun from non reversed people's perspective. Busted terrain fixing itself and sending bullets back into your gun. Before the assault, in what condition are the people that get "unshot" by reversed soldiers?

Tenet was cool to watch at times but was sloppy in too many ways. It took a cool idea and wrote itself into a corner. Not as bad as Interstellar nor the wretched TDKR but still ...

4.5/10

reply

Yeah

reply

I enjoyed it, but it is a little far fetched, and just a little full of itself. 🤷🏻‍♂️

reply

It was pretty good. Convoluted, yes, yes. Watch it for pure entertainment value, and don't take it super seriously. If you require that it be some airtight masterpiece, you will not like it. It has some interesting ideas. Go with its flow, and you'll enjoy. I especially liked Kenneth Branagh's character.
