Rabid Dogs (1975)
This Mario Bava thriller was filmed in 1973, shelved and then finally screened in the mid 90’s. Hard to find but well worth it.

Who Can Kill a Child (1976)
Spanish horror kind of like Children of the Corn. I’m very surprised this one is not talked about more.

Hitchhike (1977)
David Hess, of Last House on the Left fame, is a dangerous hitchhiker in this Italian thriller. Anyone who’s seen Hess knows this has to be good.

Rolling Thunder (1977)
Revenge film about a Vietnam vet turned vigilante. Paul Schrader, who did Taxi Driver, did this screenplay. Stars William Devane, Lynda Haynes and Tommy Lee Jones.

The Last Hunter (1980)
Men on a Mission in Vietnam directed by Antonio Margheriti, starring David Warbeck and Tisa Farrow. Fun movie and Warbeck is always great.

Hunter’s Blood (1986)
Group of hunters encounter murderous poachers in this Deliverance knock off. Starring Sam Bottoms, Clu Gulager, Joey Travolta among others you’ll recognize.

The Woman in Black (1989)
If you mention this title most people think of the remake. Forget about that and watch the original one if you want some old style atmospheric horror, with a couple of jump scares too. Creepy as hell!

reply

Glad to see someone else recommend the original Woman in Black. Far superior to the remake.

reply

It’s the best made for television horror movie I’ve ever seen.

I really liked Rabid Dogs, it's a very grim film with no humor or humanity to ease the tension

Bloody Friday (72) is a hard to find German armed robbery picture with a similar tone to Rabid Dogs
* it may still be on Amazon Prime

reply

I’ll add it to my list. 👍

reply

“I really liked Rabid Dogs, it's a very grim film” a lot of movies George Eastman is in seem to be that way.
