Hey, I always wondered, and now is a good time to ask; Is it against the rules to curse on this site? I noticed most people never do and even when my man Shogie quotes a movies, he censures it.

I mean, what the fuck?

reply

I don't really know the rules, never read the site guidelines to be honest

But a couple of our top people have objected to harsh language in the past so I try to keep my posts PG13...I really enjoy most of our posters and try to keep it clean
I do so out of respect because I talk like a drunken sailor in real life

Sometimes I slip...the Mods seem pretty laid back about it

reply

OK, I don't see how you can censor Samuel then. I mean, it's the essense of his message. ;)

reply

I'm probably guilty of trying to make all parties feel happy and welcome

I was a huge trolling asshole when I busted into this joint 18 months ago...just trying to be a decent sort of guy these days

reply

That Dano guy was great too

reply

Cool that you have Matti Pellonpää listed as one of your favourites. He's highly respected here in Finland. Many think that he is/was the best finnish actor.

reply

That's great to hear.. I've seen him in about 10 movies, all from the brothers, mostly Aki.. Do you have any other recommendations? He was such a great actor, and did a lot before dying at 44.

I was trying to read more about him, but everything was in Finnish.

Sir Anthony Hopkins
Al Pacino
Robert DeNiro
Leonardo DiCaprio
Tom Hanks
Phillip Seymour Hoffman
Gary Oldman
Meryl Streep
Gene Hackman
Robert Duvall
Cate Blanchett
Alan Rickman
Jeff Bridges

I admire many more, but this is the list that comes to mind. I mainly value two characteristics -- screen presence (Hopkins, Streep, Rickman and Malkovich instantly bring a certain weight to any scene in which they appear), and flexibility/range (Pacino, DiCaprio and Oldman are utterly convincing in vastly different roles).
