Never had their apple pie, but their chicken is still pretty good. Mashed ‘taters too.

+1 For animal abusers. One of my passions is animal welfare. However, there is no reason to dislike people with substance abuse issues. We're all human and it can happen to anyone. In my experience, the majority of drug addicts are not bad people and they deserve help and compassion. Addiction should be treated as a medical problem, instead of a criminal problem.

reply

I'm much too jaded and too old for compassion.

At this very moment?
SNOW!

reply

Sorry to hear that MissMargo! We just had two beautiful days here, 75 and sunny yesterday, 80 and sunny today.

But it’s already gone 😟... 43 and rain tomorrow.

reply

Stop gloating! It's not nice.
I'd be perfectly happy with 43 degree weather with rain. That's about the norm at this time of the year in Wisconsin.
We got dumped on last night with 5 inches. The temps are in the mid 20s. The wind is really blowing and drifting the snow. It is now snowing again, so we will have to dig out again tomorrow if we want to go anywhere on Monday. It doesn't look too good for this next week either.
At this rate, I figure the snow may just melt by the end of May.😄

reply

I wouldn't mind rain and 43 degrees either. I can only guess that we've had at least a foot of snow - it's hard to tell with the high winds. Good thing I don't need to go anywhere - the entry door to my garage is blocked by a huge snowdrift.

I'm hoping the heaviest snow waves are behind us now, but it looks like it will continue snowing for several hours yet. Originally this storm was forecast to move on by about this time last night, but it's still here.

reply

Sure is crazy, isn't it? It snowed all night and most of today. We went out twice and cleared the sidewalks and the drive, and it still kept on. My husband has decided to call in and take the day off tomorrow. He'll clear us out again tomorrow later in the morning. We've had enough for now.
As much as I'd love it if it melted away quickly, I'm worried that it might! The Wisconsin River runs right through this city. I have the feeling that there is going to be some serious flooding this spring.... if spring ever arrives. We are safe where we are, but there are so many lovely homes all along the river. We have several friends who live down there. I've seen this happen before. It's such a mess and the damage is so costly.
Of course, it could be much worse. Thank God the electricity is on! When I think about what those poor people on the east coast have gone through, I'd say that what we have experienced is just a fart in a hurricane! LOL!
Glad you don't need to go anywhere tomorrow. Relax and watch a good movie!

reply

Flooding has also become a concern around the area here. I'm not worried for myself, although the Mississippi is less than a mile away. I swear flooding is the worst for damage and cleanup.

Our roads here are pretty good. It's warm enough that the chemicals keep the roads clear once they're plowed. My street has been only partially plowed but I'm sure they'll finish it overnight.

I just want winter to be done already!! 😩

reply

Winter IS done. This is just a lousy spring.

Uh . . . global warming? Really?

Today, we’re running the Boston Marathon in driving rain and 25 mph winds. Yikes.
