Sounds good! My favorite small tomatoes are the Little Pear and Black Pearl. Tomato plants are starting to pop up in our garden now. Can't wait! Grew up surrounded by avocado trees/orchards, so they're pretty much a staple to put on everything, lol.

YUM! Love avocado! 😄

Yum, yum, and yum.

Fresh Turkey ( from the bird) cheese and mayo

Try adding some chopped jalapenos to that

reply

Jalapenos go well with dairy.

Edam cheese, peanut butter, and VEGEMITE !! On any bread that's not too thick.

I like the Ruben and Monte Cristo, but tonight I had a warm sandwich that I will remember, made by a friend who used to be a chef at the Four Seasons Boston hotel: tender breaded chicken cutlets wrapped in salami, napped in homemade tomato gravy, on garlic bread with melted Provalone.

This a terrible thread! It's made me crazy hungry, salivary glands working overtime reading any number of posts.

I love sandwiches. When I think of the word, my first thought is deli sandwiches. While I'm not Jewish myself, I was lucky enough to grow up in an area where there were lots of excellent delis.

My favorite sandwiches were brisket on a freshly baked Kaiser roll, and chopped liver on freshly baked rye with very thinly sliced onions. Plus half-done dill pickles! Oh god, now I'm going to be longing for this, and where I live now, it's so white bread, the nearest deli is way too many miles away.

I'm also a sucker for a really good grilled cheese, with tomatoes and onions, and/or mushrooms, or any other.

Haven't had a Reuben for decades. They are delicious. The light sprinkling of confectioners sugar on it doesn't make it like a donut at all, just adds a slight sweetness, kind of like a honey roasted ham, or putting pineapple on a ham sandwich.

A good BLT is also great. I love adding sliced avocado into the mix, and although I'm not a vegetarian, I find bacon too be too fatty and greasy on my tongue, so use facon (don't recall the brand at the moment, but the flavor is just as good if not better than bacon, and no grease!).

This really is a great topic, but damn it makes me hungry.

This is a such a toughie! Sandwiches are close to my favourite food. Also, I put a lot of weird stuff on my sandwiches.

Pretty much I like a sandwich that has the works - lots of salad stuff and lots of meat. Cheese depends on what is on the sandwich, I'm not a huge cheese sandwich person. Cheese is best on hamburgers.
I prefer rye bread for sandwiches and cheap white bread for toasting.
I love putting wasabi and peanut butter on my sandwiches.
I enjoy jalapenos and finely diced red onion.
Oak lettuce is good.
I do love a good egg salad sandwich.

Dammit I don't know. I just love carbs. Pasta sandwich for life.

So mouth-wateringly true!

Absolutely.

Cool. I think I've added pickles to a pb and wasabi sandwich before.

People often think that when I tell them what I eat, but actually it's not similar at all imho.

reply

I'd never thought of that before, but you're right! Last night I had a chicken salad and baby greens sandwich for dinner, in your honor [cheers]

I miss them too, but you know what? I'm kind of liking that many of us are using the BB code for them anyway [yes].

I love salt and vinegar flavored crisps/chips! Delicious.

[deleted]

I loved those. Also [laugh] (very handy and practically universal).

Yes, we have salt & vinegar chips here. They're delicious but they instantly raise your blood pressure about 600 points! On the other hand, we also have Old Bay chips and ketchup chips...

I'm not vegan, but I enjoy organic romaine lettuce topped with sliced tomatoes on any type of bread with organic yellow mustard on bottom bread slice and organic catsup on top of tomatoes.

Tastes just like a hamburger, but without the dodgy meat.
