Does anyone here like trolls?

I've only started posting online because we need content to bring in replies but I used to be a reader, a lurker and that sat fine with me.

A decent part of my enjoyment of IMDB was the trolling. Someone would say something and others would react to it. Sometimes the initial person was asking a serious question and the replies got taken out of context and found a life of their own and other times the initial person was trolling but the replies were all serious and gave a new angle on what was originally being asked.

I've gotten through many a night feasting on the entertainment that was people having a back and forth for no other reason that for something to do.

Obviously the main attraction here is films, TV and those who act in them but does anyone else appreciate a decently played hand of trolling?

Depends. Sometimes I laughed hard at some of the fights, yet it got old on every board. Maybe start at one for now. I have to admit I was guilty of it towards the end. Also I saw one good fight between hestia virgin on Ghostbusters against another user that got heated quickly. Best match ever.

These days anyone with opinion different to yours is labelled a troll automatically even when he/she is not trolling per se

Clever, witty comments and dry, sarcastic humor is always good but trolls don't do anyone any good.

Define a troll, ok, when someone asks a very serious question like "why is the sky blue?" a troll would come along and say "well, if you were up there that long, you'd be blue too" that's a troll

reply

Really? That's a troll LOL??? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

reply

I've got a million of them

Good one!!

reply

thanks, that is funny, lol

That just sounds like an attempt at a joke, I wouldn't call that trolling.
I would call it trolling when someone deliberately tries to stir up controversy or conflict, when that is their usual M.O.. Not just any thread that eventually turns into conflict, but a thread that deliberately tries to incite it.

really

That doesn't sound like trolling. Trolling is nastier than that.

I do sometimes. Some of the trolls over at IMDB were so damn funny that I actually followed them. Take the thread below for example, when the question was posed at the little house board of: β€œWho smelled worse, Edwards or Bunny the horse”?

My favorite troll, Albert_Ingalls, shared his thoughts on the matter πŸ˜€ You'd have to be made of stone not to laugh your ass off at that one!

Edwards smelled like a mix of sweat, whiskey, prostitutes, Charles tears, tobacco, rotted meat, shame, lemon vebina, coffee and small pox. The horse only smelled like horse crap. Edwards for the win.

One of the worst trolls is AngryMan 53. No matter what he comments on he calls it racist. The twit is getting old.

reply

Twits are people, too, you racist.

reply

Boo hoo you called me a racist. LOL!

reply

I loathe it
