Trump Wants Mandatory Military Service

Good! That will take care of 90% of the whiny manbabies on this site.

"In an interview, Miller said a national service requirement should be “strongly considered.” He described the concept as a common “rite of passage,” one that would create a sense of “shared sacrifice” among America’s youth.

“It reinforces the bonds of civility,” Miller said. “… Why wouldn’t we give that a try?”"

reply

I support this notion so long as neoliberal boomers like yourself are used as front line shock troops.

reply

"...America’s youth"

You can't read, but I'm not surprised.

reply

I read that but I'd rather see you on the front line first. Did you somehow miss that 100% part of my post?

reply

There is not 1 person from the Gen Z Era or Millennials for that matter that would ever consider serving their Country because speaking from experience, I was in the U.S Navy stationed onboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71 and when it comes to boot camp, there is no surfing your Smartphones like you do now and you will be called every name in the book in an effort to break you down and rebuild you back up again and in bootcamp they don't have time for the identity politics crap.. Business is business.. I remember one day, I got caught taking an unauthorized soda break with someone who didn't speak hardly any English.. He got caught and ratted both of us out and for our trouble, we were awaken at 02:30AM to be marched over to an Auditorium to do more exercises than I never knew existed and even worse, is I eyeballed the drill officer and as a result, he failed me right off the bat and made me come back again the next morning.. It truly was no fun

reply

I don't disagree with those things, but nonetheless I'd like to see the entitled boomers like Keelai who were able to buy homes working day jobs, that today land people around the poverty line, thrown into front line trenches; the same group that inherited a thriving country, voted with their feelings and snobbish pretensions and turned it into the shit hole we have today.

Tell me it wouldn't be glorious to see Keelai serving on the front lines against Russians or some such. It would be a fitting end for his cohort.

reply

Seems like a giant waste of time and resources!

reply

Military is short volunteers. I bet Trump's own brats and grandbrats don't serve.

reply

The solution to being short on volunteers is make volunteering more attractive and incentivize staying in. Not compulsory service.

reply

We absolutely should institute this as long as we also eliminate the woke factor currently plaguing the military, which is what is actually causing the lack of volunteers. It would be a quick end to all the liberal nonsense from you crybaby soy-bitches and purse totin' sissy boys.

reply

I don't think people avoid the military because it's too woke, dude. That makes no sense.

Also, so much for civil liberties.

reply

It isn't far fetched.

For example, many avoided the military because of the mandated vaccine not long ago. Tied to that were pretensions about the US military being radically Left, or "woke." It started before that even, with videos such as this fueling the contempt for the US military that were widely circulated at the time:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnpD1tCjTcQ

Is it a primary reason for why most people avoid the military? Probably not, and it almost certainly had less of an impact on recruitment in comparison to vaccine mandates. However, it's not at all far fetched to assume that concerns of the military being "woke," or more accurately specifics such as people being concerned about serving/living/sleeping alongside trannys and homosexuals, has at least a single digit impact on the percentage of overall recruitment.

But what does some uppity, forum warrior, 🌈 bitch from the UK care about any of this anyway?

reply

>For example, many avoided the military because of the mandated vaccine not long ago.

Many jobs include with them vaccine requirements. That's also not really a woke or new phenomenon.

>Is it a primary reason for why most people avoid the military? Probably not, and it almost certainly had less of an impact on recruitment in comparison to vaccine mandates. Have you considered really cringe DEI-type advertisements are done to try and appeal to youth culture and that people just generally don't want to join the military?

>But what does some uppity, forum warrior, 🌈 bitch from the UK care about any of this anyway?

How am I an LGBT bitch, exactly?

reply

You clearly aren't knowledgeable on this topic, because otherwise you'd know those mandates were lifted because the demographics that typically enlist in the military do care about such a requirement and enlistment was significantly impacted.

That you used the present tense, include, is suggestive that you weren't aware of that requirement being lifted and that you likely aren't informed about this topic, meaning your opinion is worthless here. Cross apply what I said to the rest of your pseudo debate points, cunt.

But you didn't answer, what does a 🌈 bitch from the UK care about any of this? Why aren't you telling us all about how wonderful your Manchester ghetto, Brixton or whatever progressive UK wasteland that spawned you is?

reply

>You clearly aren't knowledgeable on this topic, because otherwise you'd know those mandates were lifted because the demographics that typically enlist in the military do care about such a requirement and recruitment was enlistment was significantly impacted.

Maybe, But it's not a 'woke' thing to be heavily pro-vaccine, or anti-vaccine.

>But you didn't answer, what does a 🌈 bitch from the UK care about any of this? Why aren't you telling us all about how wonderful your Manchester, Brixton or whatever progressive UK wasteland that spawned you is?

Most people to some degree talk about US politics across the world, as people here make posts about UK politics. Do you butt in and tell them they should stop nosing in on UK politics? Of course you don't. You're just being completely disingenuous.

How am I an LGBT bitch, exactly?

reply

It's telling that you didn't respond to not being knowledgeable about the topic of US military recruitment. In an actual debate, the kind that you pretend to aspire to with your puerile, sophistic tactics here, you would therefore concede that point, would have to stfu on it, and I would continue to cross apply it to the end.

But here you're just a little bitch that will continue to get the last word in by posting ad infinitum, while you stay up until five in the morning on your unemployed schedule, pretending getting the last word in equates to winning the verbal duels in these forums that you seem to base your existence on.

Really Slavau, it's obvious at this point you don't know anything of depth about the majority of topics you pick fights on in these forums. Do you think that your Socratic tactics here, which are obvious to regulars on these forums at this point, make you some good person like Socrates was? They don't; you are a sophist that contributes little to discussions other than attempting to destroy the ideas of others without contributing your own to be brought up for examination and discussion.

In other words you are a cunt, and the three minutes I've spent typing this is more of my time than you are worth. Until next time.

When did I claim to be knowledgeable about it? Of course I'm not, I'm neither military-minded, nor American.

I don't "pick fights" about topics in-depth. I usually respond to posters who make wild and outrageous claims without the slightest shred of evidence. These are presented by them as fact. They offer zero supporting evidence, and the implications of them being true are utterly absurd. In some cases, they are laughable on their face. These include claims like "Obamacare was a front for child trafficking", or "Obama is gay", or "Lady Gaga is a Jew" or the many other utterly batshit absurd claims made by TVfan and some others I've seen here. There's too many to count. Or I push back against the many outright fascist, and totalitarian statements made by users here who claim such respect for the US constitution and cry so hard whenever they regard the left or liberals as suppressing their speech in culture. When in reality they couldn't give two shits about civil liberties, and are just unhappy they don't get to persecute others.

Literally everyone who complains about me, including you (I do not buy that you are a moderate/centrist at all - nothing about any political expression from you suggests that at all) are right-wingers/reactionaries up to and approaching outright fascism - and completely used to an echo-chamber only occasionally interrupted by punch-clock activists like Keelai.

I will repeat my questions:

There are undoubtedly tiny pockets of people here and there that cited the Covid Vaccine as their reason for not enlisting, but those people are morons. Day one of bootcamp, you're getting like 10 shots right in the ass and you don't know what they are or what's in a single one of them. You'll initial some quick medical forms, but that first day is some damned overwhelming and stressful that you pretty much sign whatever the man screaming at you tells you to without comprehending it.

The primary factor effecting enlistment numbers is the economy. If it's good(which it has been), enlistments drop significantly.

reply

You're wrong, as usual. God, you are clueless, yet feel the need to insert your ignorant opinion everywhere.

Not only has the military gone woke and turned off a lot of volunteers, their vaccine mandates have thrown away centuries of combat experience by pushing out people who refused the clot shot.

reply

>Not only has the military gone woke and turned off a lot of volunteers, their vaccine mandates have thrown away centuries of combat experience by pushing out people who refused the clot shot.

You haven't provided much evidence that the military going woke has put off volunteers. The vaccine shot might've given the typical political temperament of would-be volunteers. But the vaccine mandate has apparently gone.

reply

There you go again.

reply

so crybaby soy-bitches and purse totin' sissy boys dont enlist ,
but neither do righteous stand up hard man no nonsense spades a spade god fearing fighting folk from the right
... cos they're scared of a covid jab

sounds like y'all need to be forced via National Service

reply

No. Unless it's a tranny that wants a free conversion. Who the fuck do you think typically serves in the military? Hipsters from Portland or farm boys from Iowa?

If I were of age, the COVID shot would absolutely keep me from enlisting.

reply

well , the second one

If I were of age, the COVID shot would absolutely keep me from enlisting.
that was my point
hipsters dont worry about the jab , but wernt going to enlist
Farm boys were going to enlist but if they are republican , and they are, then gop rules state jab not allowed.

reply

So which warmongering world leader invading a sovereign power or overthrowing his own government would you have liked me to compare Trump to?

Putin maybe? Thats a good one because Trump would probably have helped him out with it. ( y'know with his pulling out of NATO ideas)

reply

Sounds good to me.
But like CraigC said above, we need to purge all this Woke queer garbage from the military.
I would be more than happy to serve my country, but not if it means serving in the Rainbow brigade.

reply

good one, Private Bone Spurs

reply

It won't happen but something similar to it should. It gets to one of the very core problems that no one values American Citizenship and the responsibility that goes along with it.

reply

It will never happen. To have millions of people serve in the military the logistics to support that endeavor could costs billings if not trillions of tax payer money. Also having a military that is mostly conscripts is not an effective fighting force especially today where people know about world conflicts and they couldn't care less what happens outside of their world.

reply

Also, from an on the ground perspective, it would be damned hard to maintain authority and lead someone who is forced to be there. It can be a damned challenge getting people who volunteered to meet the bare minimums.

reply

Nah! Vietnam had a draft.

reply

During Nam, the culture of the military, and the US, was extremely different than it is now. We aren't nearly nationalistic enough to swing that today. Aside from the military's unwritten rule of Failure not being an option back then, there were myriad of ways to get soldiers to comply back then, most of which would get the entire military chain of command put on trial if they were allowed today.

So unless you fundamentally change the way the military conducts itself today and also change the mindsets of almost everyone serving today, conscription would just be a counterproductive pain in the ass!

reply

You went to jail if you were drafted and didn't go. Plenty of anti-war folks.

I googled the reason:
Fewer qualified because obese, drugs, mental issues, etc..
Military benefits offered in private industry
Pay probably low
https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/military-struggling-find-troops-fewer-young-americans-serve/story?id=86067103

reply

No it ain't. No more than getting people to abide the law, which is basically what you're doing when you're drafted.

reply

Not the law. Orders. And without question.

A specific mindset is needed for that. There's a reason why conservatives tend to be in the military and police force. Creative types and free spirits would hate that career choice.

reply

God are you dumb.

What happens if you do not follow orders? Court martial. Prison. You dumbass.

You people are the biggest lemmings in existence. You're just too dumb to know it.

Wrong. Conservatives love their country, their fellow citizen and are independent of thought and action. We want to be left the hell alone. THAT is what scares narcissistic worms like you. You only pretend to give a shit for purely selfish reasons.

reply

Other countries like Israel, South Korea, Denmark and Sweden have mandatory military service.

A better idea is civil conscription where young people improve their communities by planting gardens, painting over graffiti, helping the elderly, etc..

reply

It will never happen in the US. Our population is 334 million and to have millions of people serve in the military or other community service the logistics to support that endeavor could costs billings if not trillions of tax payer money. Also having a military that is mostly conscripts is not an effective fighting force especially today where people who know about world conflicts and they couldn't care less what happens outside of their world.

reply

Trump, Miller and GOP idea. Not mine.

I don't think doing charitable work is a bad idea especially in school. Teachers help lead school kids in different protests in my area which teaches them activism and the First Amendment. They can learn about helping their fellow Americans.

reply

Those teachers should be fired and a black mark put on their resumes.

reply

It's obvious that the kids support different causes and want to be involved in expressing themselves. A 30-minute demonstration at a nearby municipal building to express 1st amendment rights is fine. It's a lesson in civic duty.

reply

Is it obvious? To whom? Based on what?

reply

Me. Remember we're talking about kids in my area. On the ground they'll write beautiful messages about being kind to each other, etc. with chalk after their rally. And they care about the environment... nothing wrong with cleanliness.... it's next to Godiness.

Perhaps you're a misanthrope?

reply

They sound like a bunch of fags. How old are they? If they're older than 6 or 7 then they shouldn't be writing with chalk on the sidewalk. Time to grow up, kids.

reply

Yes, you are a misanthrope.

reply

I can't speak for Denmark, but those other countries have deep national enemies that make conscription an easy sell. South Korea has the north, Sweden has russia, Israel has basically every Muslim country and two millennia of hate.

reply

Sweden vs Russia = ROTFLMAO

reply

The only thing that needs to become mandatory is women signing up for the selective service. True equality can never be reached while women are protected in this fashion.

reply

I guess they know it's not practical since a woman can get pregnant to avoid the draft. Any smart female draft dodger would continually get pregnant and go on welfare. Your idea would create a large underclass.
