Goya Foods Boycott

Has anyone joined? Goya was extremely well-stocked when I checked a nearby supermarket so I believe it's being boycotted there. I decided to join even though I was only buying one product.

Goya CEO Robert Unanue praised President Donald Trump during a White House press conference. "We're all truly blessed to have have a leader like President Trump who is a builder. We have an incredible builder, and we pray. We pray for our leadership, our president."

Hispanics took offense because of the anti-Hispanic rhetoric and policies from Trump so a boycott was started. Unanue double-downed on his stupidity by replying "Hell no!" to apologizing. His grandfather who started the company is probably spinning in his grave as his progeny ruins his company.

I'll buy some Wednesday when going shopping. Creepy Joe will still win as time goes by more of the US will have no go zones like Europe that people can only guess the horrors that goes on inside. We will have latino areas like that last Rambo movie. Democrats have never really brought progress just unintellegance in seeing quiet in some places makes it right.

Do you know if your store is fully stocked with Goya or is it MIA? Stores around me once had a low supply when people stocked up on foods like soups and beans because of the pandemic. I was surprised by how much Goya was available when I stopped in a store yesterday.

My guess is that the Hispanic boycott will outlast whites buying it.

reply

It's time for the right to fight back. There's now a "buy-cott" for Goya products. I looked for some of their rice at the store yesterday but they were out. Mostly just beans on the shelves. I'll look again next time I go and support them for not apologizing (unless they too change their mind in a day or two like most). I normally bought their brand anyway but now I want to continue my support by buying more often.

This stuff is so out of hand. Hopefully "buy-cotts" will catch on with other businesses who have an opposing opinion and people will stop cowering to the loud mouth leftists.

Support Goya! If you don't eat their products, buy them anyway and donate them to a food pantry!

reply

buy them anyway and donate them to a food pantry

Good idea, I have never bought their stuff before but will start doing so.

reply

It's not left or right. Trump's comments about Mexican rapists and treatment of migrant children, the Dreamers, etc. are what fueled the boycott when the CEO sounded like he approved.

I was curious to know who buys Goya:
African American 155
Asian 71
Caucasian 52
Hispanic 496

That stat means Goya will be in trouble if the boycott takes hold since whites barely buy it. Personally, I find the food too salty.

reply

Cancel culture is left vs right. If anyone dares to support Trump or even give him the slightest credit or thanks (Karen Whitsett) the left will turn on them and ruin their lives/business to the best of their ability.

And we all know the truth about what Trump actually said about Mexicans but you guys keep telling this lie anyway.

And we all know the truth about what Trump actually said about Mexicans but you guys keep telling this lie anyway.

They claim to hate Nazis, but seem to worship the teachings of Joseph Goebbels.

reply

The right has had plenty of boycotts against the Dixie Chicks, Walmarts, NFL, Nike, Keurig, calling french fries french fries, Amazon, etc. Most right-wing boycotts fail because your attention span is so short.

Of course, you believe all Mexicans are rapists, migrant children should be abused, Puerto Ricans should have paper towels thrown at them and gun nuts should be incited to carry out mass shootings in Walmarts.

I suggest you buy plenty more of Goya products to make up for the large shortfall. The CEO is depending on you.

reply

This is why it's always a double-edged sword to announce a boycott. The supporters of that viewpoint will start buying several items. Any publicity is free advertisement. We have to be careful what we complain about and choose our battles wisely.

Harry Brewis made a short documentary about this situation on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=06yy88tLWlg&t=1020s

Their seasonings are awesome.

Boycott turned into Buycott! Stores limiting sales due to high demand. Fake News scumbags won't tell you that.

Uh-Oh: AOC's Goya Boycott is Having a Massive Effect Across the Country [with store pictures]

What’s happening beyond the swamp between Maryland and Virginia?

This guy raised $100 grand to buy Goya products and donate them to food banks. People are hungry (which AOC recently blamed for the murder and mayhem spike in her city) and Goya is good food to feed them.

People are reporting and posting photos of empty Goya grocery shelves in their area.

Here’s one from a Publix in New Jersey. I’ve covered the poster’s identity because, well, crazy people like to doxx other people.

Those shelves are supposed to be full of Goya goodness.

reply

Hispanics have bought Goya for decades. The buycott will peter out in a few days or weeks with the next news cycle and Goya will have few customers.

reply

I've never used Goya, but liked those '80s ads with Zohra Lampert https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuLV3AzLT1k
Sorry Zohra, but now it's Goya Oh Boycotta!

reply

The slogan sounds familiar, but I think I zoned out when these ads played. I give the actress an A+ for enthusiasm.

The Spanish language ads are livelier.

reply

I bought 4 cans of refried beans and some seasoning salt.

reply

I hope you're planning to social distance.

reply

Megan Fox won't let me.

She rushed to Puerto Rico to get away from you.

I'm going to the store in a few minutes. I'm going to buy some of their stuff thanks to this thread. They have good juice in a can.

Update:

Trump and his spawn endorsed a private company Goya which violates federal ethics rules.

""You can't use your official position to promote a private business," Noah Bookbinder, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, told Bloomberg. "I think in a commonsense way this is an obvious violation.""

Not surprising that Trumpites would support lawlessness.

reply

It's all by design. The whole Trump family knows it's illegal, but they know nothing will happen to them which makes the whole thing a distraction away from Trump's failed response to the pandemic and recession.

reply

Isn't that what Obama did when he toured that solar panel company he gave money to. That had intentions on closing and keeping the money.

reply

Apples and oranges. Trump was acting as a sponsor for a private company which is unethical since it's basically advertising.

That's different from trying to help an industry, factory or large company from mass layoffs which is usually done by politicians. This is more economical like Obama's. Notice how I never criticized Trump when he tried to save jobs at Carrier Corp.. Of course, he failed!

He endorsed a company that has provided free food for millions. Is that really such a bad thing?

reply

The "free food" was paid from profits made from mainly Hispanic consumers.

A stupid thing is to insult the people paying your salary. The CEO is a moron.

I was a large supermarket today and the Goya products are overflowing. Nobody is buying them. The location is a wealthy, white neighborhood. Not looking good for Goya.

Trump cares more about Goya beans than the 141,000 dead Americans and millions of unemployed he has created. So yes, there is something wrong with that!

reply

And how did he insult them?

reply

"The comment alienated many Goya consumers, who consider Trump racist against Hispanic people because of his immigration policies, his calling Mexicans "rapists" during his 2016 presidential campaign, and his reportedly calling El Salvador a "shithole country" at a 2018 White House meeting."

I'll go to another supermarket tomorrow with a large Hispanic and black clientele to see if it's selling.

reply

Yeah but how did he insult them? Every other country has immigration laws. Why should we not enforce ours? That's all Trump is talking about.

reply

Disrespect.

reply

Yes, liberals are the most hateful people in the country, second only to Muslims when we are talking the whole world.

reply

You only want to argue and spew your personal bias. Open your mind!

reply

I'll boycott them. How dare Goya do such a horrific thing.

reply

I'll buy what I can when shopping from them. Its a little higher than nonethnic food I buy. But they support Trump and as long as crusty Joe isn't in office I can afford it some.

reply

Biden is going to be a trailblazer, set the world on fire with his brilliance. China will cower in fear at the mere mention of his name.
