Also, if you think Frenchie is just now into freaky shit, you clearly haven't been paying attention. Do you not remember the season 2 flashback to MMs bachelor party where frenchie wanted to hire transvestite strippers? Or that thrupple he was in? The reactionaries are just idiots. Wouldn't classify those as mass shootings. Sure, the reasoning behind them may be dumb as all hell, but there are reasons behind those actions and those bullets generally have a specific target. When people worry about mass shootings, they worry about the lunatic who walks into a grocery store and fires at randoms just for shits and giggles. Makes sense in the movie. Fear handles what is happening. Anxiety was focused on what could happen! Embarrassment was pink, and a dark pink at that! I can't speak for Denmark, but those other countries have deep national enemies that make conscription an easy sell. South Korea has the north, Sweden has russia, Israel has basically every Muslim country and two millennia of hate. During Nam, the culture of the military, and the US, was extremely different than it is now. We aren't nearly nationalistic enough to swing that today. Aside from the military's unwritten rule of Failure not being an option back then, there were myriad of ways to get soldiers to comply back then, most of which would get the entire military chain of command put on trial if they were allowed today. So unless you fundamentally change the way the military conducts itself today and also change the mindsets of almost everyone serving today, conscription would just be a counterproductive pain in the ass! <This is just so they can shut down arguments and claim the system isn't bias towards only Trump.> But Republicans are the ones that have been doing everything they can to charge Hunter with something. Now that they actually convict him, it's somehow a leftist political ploy? Make that makes sense! There are undoubtedly tiny pockets of people here and there that cited the Covid Vaccine as their reason for not enlisting, but those people are morons. Day one of bootcamp, you're getting like 10 shots right in the ass and you don't know what they are or what's in a single one of them. You'll initial some quick medical forms, but that first day is some damned overwhelming and stressful that you pretty much sign whatever the man screaming at you tells you to without comprehending it. The primary factor effecting enlistment numbers is the economy. If it's good(which it has been), enlistments drop significantly. If Joe wants Hunter pardoned, he'll do it himself while he's still alive. Who in the hell else would pardon hunter? While it would be shady if Joe did it, it's at least is somewhat understandable. Most of us have kids and might understand the impulse. For anyone else, it would create and unnecessary political shitstorm with zero benefit! Lol the President can't posthumously sign executive orders! and If/when Biden doesn't pardon him, will you acknowledge you were wrong and he was a man of his word on this one? Also, from an on the ground perspective, it would be damned hard to maintain authority and lead someone who is forced to be there. It can be a damned challenge getting people who volunteered to meet the bare minimums. Well this is America, so it's take a lot more than a minor felony to send a rich person to prison. Especially a rich white guy with political ties! But unless Joe pardoned him(never gonna happen), this falls squarely into the category of irrelevant. The solution to being short on volunteers is make volunteering more attractive and incentivize staying in. Not compulsory service. You might want to edit your joke to more accurately reflect reality. It's well known that Trump is ordering that T-Bone well done with plenty of ketchup! And the Ice cream? Also him, as I remember him proudly boasting how he gets an extra scoop! Seems like a giant waste of time and resources! A. The dude saved a bunch of Marines lives B. Anybody that's been in the shit will attest that losing a brother, especially in that way, can majorly fuck with your head. The military has to charge him by law, but nobody in uniform is thinking all that poorly of him given the context of the situation. Do you really need to ask? How would I possibly have any idea if any of those observations also applied to Robocat? He's an awful human being who's despised by the majority of people. The history books won't be kind to this man. Also, He's wealthy, but I'd wager that every relationship in his life is dependent on his money and wouldn't exist without it. Even his own wife clearly despises him. That's not a life I'd envy, but to each his own.
