Loved the movie

Not sure how it would translate into a series though.

IMDb says this is a US production on FX. Set in NZ?

reply

That was my question, IS it set in New Zealand?

The commercials don't make it clear, and I suppose a version set in the US could work.

reply

No it takes place on Staten Island.

Have seen several episodes now, and yes, it turns out that Staten Island is a perfect place to set a vampire show!

I loved it too. Matt Berry is in the series, he's a perfect pick for it.

Pilot 27 Mar.

I kinda feel the same (especially with Taika having little to do with the show), but I’m giving it a chance nonetheless. It could, maybe, be as funny or simply entertaining as Taika’s terrific movie.

reply

I didn't watch the film, but the series is incredibly funny. Love it. The squeaky toy battle was brilliant.

reply

I enjoyed the Vampiric counsel. The cameos were fantastic.

reply

Just watched that one. It was so good!

Arguably I think it's better as a show. They can explore more of the lore and history this way and expand the world.

reply

100% agree. I think the show surpasses the movie, and its better in smallwr doses anyway.

I'm the biggest FotC fan I know, and I'm liking the series quite a bit more than the film, which I liked.

Saw the show first, then the movie just the other day - love both! Actually laughing out loud, literally, at certain scenes and lines. Wonderful stuff.
