You need to give people some reason to watch the movie. Harley Quinn has always been about crazy fun and a sexy chick. If you take away the crazy fun with too much preach, and then you take away the sexy chicks... what remains that worth paying?

It's the only franchise film in February. Ticket presales outsold Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman on the first day.

I actually think it might be. I didn't at first. But after that clip they released with the clown show fight choreography, this looks like a super turd.

Indications are that BoP is huge with the "woke" crowd, but that ticket sales are tanking. Looks like I'm on the right track.

My question was what your metric for "worst" was. You seem to be indicating that you feel it will flop financially; if this is your criteron for "worst" tag, you're confused. . .Suicide Squad made $746.8 million, against a production budget of $175 million. . .a (big) financial success by any estimation.
Squad was possibly "worst" by aggregate critics/fanboy estimations, but that's not what you alluded to in your OP.
No idea what's in store for BOP. . .it's an odd movie, in several ways. If I *had* to predict, I would say it'll do better critically than Squad, but worse financially. This is by no means a scientific assessment, just a gut feeling.

Who does this even appeal to?

None of the characters look or act like their comic book counterparts, Margot Robbie is nothing like Harley Quinn but more like a cosplayer with a lot of money. The nearest we’ve come to a live action Harley is the proto Harley Quinn from Gotham, much better than Margot Robbie’s lacklustre attempt.

Say what you will about Robbie's Quinn, there's No Way you can describe it as "lacklustre." It's hyperkinetic nature is about all that defines it, in fact.
I say this as an avid reader who's never been into the character. . .to me, she's a ridiculous, Wile E. Coyote villain who not only doesn't make sense, there's been no attempt to write her that way. A middling psychiatrist runs into the Joker, becomes infatuated, and suddenly she can contend w/metas and supremely-trained world-class combatants? Armed w/an oversized mallet?
I realize she's (at least partially) intended to be an absurd commentary, but still. . .nah. Never felt the character.

Just because the character is hyper does not mean the actress is putting great effort into the role, she's a lazy version of Harley Quinn who couldn’t even tackle her New York accent. That’s why I call her lacklustre.

Please believe: there Is no "New York accent." Brooklyn sounds different from Queens sounds different from Uptown sounds different from Staten Island. For that matter, Hollis sounds different from Fresh Meadows. So the accent argument is ridiculous.

How on earth you could know how much effort she put into the role is beyond me, but unless you were outside her trailer with a cup against the wall listening to her practicing line readings daily, that's also a mystery.
Regardless: either you have a special definition for "lacklustre," or you're just not fond of the actress. Which is all well and good, but as the man said: "Well, that's just like, uh. . .your opinion, man."

How is it ridiculous? Harley Quinn is well known for having a memorable NY accent, cosplayers on YouTube at least try it, Margot didn’t. I don't dislike the actress, in my opinion she's on par with George Clooney’s portrayal of Batman, which was lazy, and I don’t dislike him either.

I'm starting to feel like you're either trolling or special, so I'm gonna try one more time and then you're on your own:

1) You said her accent was bad
2) I explained to you there *is* no particular "NY accent"
3) You replied she has no "memorable accent."

Do you need me to figure out another way to explain that there are a million different accents that typify New Yorkers, and that the one she used was just fine?
Here's the kicker: WHAT makes you think she's even a New Yorker? This has NEVER been established, in *any* version of the character.

Ah well. Calling an actor's portrayal "lazy" is generally shorthand for "I don't understand the process." Given that, I'll just leave you to your impressions.

What a rude little child you are, I’m assuming you’re a kid because you only ever seem to post on comic book movies and are discourteous with it, no need to be that way unless you’re special.

Originating on Batman: The Animated Series in 1992, Harley Quinn’s unique speaking style was created by voice actress Arleen Sorkin. Other actresses have taken up the role since – including voiceover mainstay Tara Strong and Mia Sara as a non-costumed Quinn in the short-lived TV series Birds of Prey – the Brooklyn-inflected accent and the high-pitched vocals that Sorkin used have largely been incorporated into each individual interpretation. Robbie in the end said that her choice of accent and speaking style for the film came from a combination of the original animated Harley Quinn and Lorraine Bracco’s famous performance on The Sopranos.

I don’t see Bracco’s influence on her myself, and I assume she was thinking of Goodfellas, rather than Sopranos, but responding to a rude little pup is a waste of time, consider yourself blocked kiddo.

I didn't think the trailers look good at all but the recent reviews have me changing my mind about seeing it. Currently, they have this movie tracking slightly below Shazam's $130-$140m worldwide opening, but the major difference is that BoP is an R-Rated movie, so that could be seen as quite a worthy accomplishment.
