did you manage to avoid all spoilers?

just saw it and had no idea who was going to live who was to die at all..

the *only* slight thing was seeing a pic of Red Skull from CA1 in a clickbait news article on my FB or twitter feed and thinking hm that's strange as I thought Agent Smith had said hed never do another Marvel film (or was it Transformers?) anyway id forgotten all about that when watching and when Red Skull turned up didn't know who it was at first (thought it sounded like David Thewils?) then he took the hood off and was like oh wow Red Skull

reply

Yes, it was easy!

oh wait I forgot also id read something about Hiddleson saying farewell to MCU but it wasn't clear Loki would die..it did make sense that hed bow out though. and also Elba tweeted just the other day (about 2w after IW was on general release so he prob figured it was ok) that he was finished/farewell to his character so realised he wouldnt make it but that was no biggie as he no a major character anyway.. also there was something about the finger snap but then I think that was even talked about in one of the previous movies or a trailer anyway

reply

I had nothing spoiled...but went in FULLY expecting 2 things that ended up happening

I heavily expected Loki to die in the first 10 mins by Thanos...

and I expected an "Haunting Ending"...I figured it had something to do with the Snap...But can say, even though I expected it, The ending was so well done, I felt The power of it 100% and left the theater stunned

But Looking back....I could have Known every spoiler and I still would have left the theater stunned because....The thing that Stunned me most was Thanos...

Thanos Blew me away....Theres not a single thing Marvel could have done to make me any more happy with Thanos....

I left the Theater With The Thought "Thanos is the single greatest threat ever put on film in a CBM"....

From His story,Motives, Brolin's performance and The Incredible CGI was beyond anything I could have hoped for.....Thanos absolutely was by far the biggest "Spolier/Surprise" to me....

I went in with Thanos maybe being the 5th or 6th thing I was looking forward to most in IW...coming out Hes all I can think about...

nothing could have prepared me for The Villain we were getting in IW...

I watched a clip of Avengers actors drawing pictures on Jimmy Kimmel on my newsfeed on facebook. After watching the clip, I quickly scrolled to the next thing on my feed, knowing that there might be some jackass in the comments section, but didn't quite do it fast enough. Some jackass had a post and the only thing I picked up on was "Gamora dies". I assume the rest of his post had other spoilers. I don't get people who do that. How empty are their lives?

noticed some said people were being spoiled by some nonspoiler reviews that said it was a Part 1 of a 2parter and ended in a cliffhanger .. but wasn't it known/promoted for a good while as 'Infinity War Part 1'? its only recently the title was changed to just 'Infinity War' so think most people (mcu fans anyway) knew it was a 2 part thing and would end with a cliffhang (I guess they changed it so general audiences not that savy with MCU would just think it was Avengers III and the possible final Avengers movie like Disney started promoting it as being the final one and the culmination of 10 years of MCU)

I didn't get a single reveal of a major spoiler. The only thing I heard about Red Skull, prior to seeing the movie, was that he might make an appearance. That was it. Marvel did a really good job of holding their cards against their chest. Fab move!

I'm very familiar with the comic book version of the Infinity Gauntlet stories, but was able to remain unspoiled about the movie version before seeing the film. I saw it Thursday night (and again on Friday) of opening weekend, though, so it was easy to remain unspoiled.

Saw the first show on Thursday night before opening day, so spoilers were impossible! However, on our way out of the theater I did realize we were talking about the movie as we walked past the line of people waiting for the next show. I had to hush myself and my kids to make sure we didn't spoil anything. Hope we didn't.

For the most part, I did manage to avoid spoilers. I fully expected Loki to die after seeing the second trailer.

I love trailers, but made it a point to avoid this flick’s trailers several months before the premiere.

I’ve done the same for all the recent MCU films - they seem to give away WAY too much as the release date approaches.

I may try to avoid Captain Marvel trailers altogether
