They ruined Taskmaster

Such a great Marvel villain and they went with that stupid twist (won't spoilt it)

the MCU really hates its villains.

Spoiler:

I gotta think they have plans for Olga Kyrlenko and Taskmaster down the line. Otherwise, it's a total waste of both a good character and good actress.

reply

Agreed that would be a total waste of Her and the Character.

reply

I don't get the point of casting Olga when you only see her face, well, some of it for a couple of minutes. Seems a waste.

reply

Yeah, they practically went out of their way to make the character boring by taking away everything interesting. Considering how they’ve recently handled Thanos, Loki, and Zemo, I had high hopes. I guess there’s still a chance Tony Masters can show up in some future project.

reply

I think it is about how they handled the project. This movie is F rated. I think they just wanted to seize this opportunity for a F rating, instead of choosing the most qualified director for the job, and unnecessarily turned taskmaster into a woman.

A movie is as good as it's villain, but since we are doing a F rated movie, of course the male villain, who represents patriarchy, needs to be weak, egotistic and useless.

I don't mind the social agenda but I do mind if they ruin movies. So I guess we should be grateful if taskmaster is not a homosexual black girl, just for the sake of it.

And since it is a Marvel movie, that means it is official. So I doubt Tony Masters will surface anytime soon.

I think that also means Marvel does not really value taskmaster as an important asset.

There's a Lot of stupid packed into this post, but I can set your mind at ease on one thing, at least: they re-imagined Mandarin, after the first whack at it. No reason they couldn't do the same w/Taskmaster.

reply

So they made a Mandarin a woman and now turned her into a man?

Are you just another pissed off feminist angry about the obvious truth I was telling?

reply

I live a blessed and charmed life. . .it's REALLY tough to piss me off.

No, they nerfed Mandarin. Fan outrage caused them to backpedal furiously; now there's gonna be a "real" Mandarin in the Shang-Chi movie.

Are you just an idiot?

reply

First of all, you are clearly rude, most likely a troll or a low class person. Then again a lot of internet feminists are.

Secondly, you are clearly a narcissist, self absorbed and delusional, again a lot of feminists are.

Of course not all feminists are low lives, but you clearly are one, so I am going to ignore you from now on.

reply

Rude? Just describing what I see.
Feminist? Ask eleven people what that word means, you'll get eleven different answers. Not particularly interested in your flavor of stupidity, so don't bother.

You have the right idea, as far as exiting stage left. A brief perusal of your posts makes it clear: You clearly have nothing useful to say. Toodles.

reply

I haven't watched but i had a feeling they would waste him here or her i hear lol. Taskmaster is one of the most skilled characters in marvel, putting him in this waste of space was stupid he should be an avengers villian.

reply

Spoiler:

You mean the Task-mistress?

reply

lol good point!

reply

I was stunned when I saw how they screwed up Taskmaster.. It was like what the hell was the point..

reply

Stronk wahman ..

reply

Agreed. And the costume design is utter dog shit.

reply

Clearly so a stunt dude could fit w/o the "twist" give away LMAO!

reply

So Taskmaster isn't Anthony Masters like the comics ?

reply

No, completely different background story, completely different person. They did not even get the power right. In this version, taskmaster mimics you while fighting, "It is like fighting a mirror" as said in the movie. That doesn't even make sense.

reply

LOL. . .like he makes sense in the comics? One of the stupidest things Michelinie ever came up with was the concept of "photographic reflexes." And this is the guy who thought it was a good idea to kill Aquaman's son.

Nah, there's no way even a diehard comic geek like myself could get mad at changing stuff about *Taskmaster.* Although his miniseries on the stands now is actually pretty entertaining. It also features Black Widow prominently, so it's interesting to compare how the two relate to each other there, as opposed to in this movie.

reply

you mean daft punk?
