Is the story easier to follow than Part One?

Part One bombards you with names and places. It's mostly an exposition dump. Which is why some people find it boring.

This one adds even more characters and places into the mix but I feel it does so with just enough spectacle and respect for the themes of the story to be effective. But then again, I kinda thought the first did a decent job of that too, just not as well as this.

If anyone's interested, I reviewed the movie on my youtube channel. Appreciate any feedback. Trying to improve - https://youtu.be/OQkq-RM2v0U

I didn't think it was hard to follow at all. And no, I've never read the books.

There's an emperor. There's a few "Great Houses", but the only ones you are introduced to are the Atreides (from Caladan, the "good guys"), the Harkonens (from Geidi Prime, the "bad guys") and then there is the desert planet Arrakis with the most valuable commodity in the universe (spice) and the tribal Fremen. Seriously, how hard is it to follow? There's a little more to it, but the basic set up is pretty simple.

Lol I don't get it either, it's literally just three things (emperor, great houses, sand people) and people say it's hard to follow wtf???

About the same

I can see where they cut certain scenes out - like, where Paul goes into desert and.... err... never comes back - instead, the film jumps to another scene altogether, where Paul is doing something else.

Again, it looks like they cut out around 15 minutes or more, in 2 or 3 places. Still not difficult to fill in the blanks, but weird none the less. Looks like the studio or director chickened out of making the film last full 3 hours. Z gen morons.

If you never read the book? You know, I doubt it.
The script is not well written and some thing make no sense.

reply

These movies seem to have been made for people who read the books.
