Whose Death Was Most Upsetting for You?

Of the last episode's deaths, it would be Tara's.

Tara has been there since season four, and she was the last remaining connection to the whole Governor storyline, as well as the one who discovered Oceanside.

Plus, her redemption from being one of the Governor's unwitting minions to a key member of Rick's group was always heartening.

reply

Ozzy the Highwayman. He died fighting for people he barely knew.

reply

I liked Ozzy, but we barely got to know him. In that short time though, I'd definitely built up some affection for him.

reply

I don't think I've actually cared about a character death since Merle, maybe Hershel.

I wish i could say, I was devastated by Tara's death, considering she's been around 5 or 6 seasons now. But in all that time, she literally did nothing. I think Alanna Masterson did a good job with the few lines they gave her from time to time. But, it must suck being on a show for 6 seasons and you never had a proper storyline or character arc. Some of the actors are wasted on this show.

reply

I agree about Tara, but still, even if she didn't get to do much on the show, she did feel like part of the furniture. Plus, she had a good rapport with some of the characters, especially Eugene (even if she hasn't shared a scene with him for a while).

reply

I think season 10, instead of focusing on the obvious characters Daryl, Carol and Michonne, they need to bring some of the side characters into the spotlight, so we have new "main" characters instead of more background characters. I actually like Magna's group, I think they have potential to really grow on the show, I just hope they're given the opportunity and not just killed off for "shock" value. I was expecing Luke to be one of the pyke victims since he had so much personality. Also, I hope they keep Lydia around and make her part of the main cast, I don't want her to end up like Enid, where she's just there but not really involved in anything.

reply

Isn't Michonne (Danai Gurira) set to leave the show fairly soon?

But I agree, the show needs to broaden its focus. That said, I hope it doesn't jettison old characters simply to highlight newer characters.

I expect Carol and Daryl's survival is secured (especially now that Rick, Maggie and, supposedly, Michonne are out of the show), but I hope Rosita, Eugene, Gabriel and Aaron aren't killed off.

reply

Wait till Eugene gets the radio to work. There's a whole world out there.

reply

Enid, not as much as Carl's but kinda feels bad for Alden.

reply

Henry, mainly because it is so sad for Carol! She has lost so much.
I am really sad about it. I really thought they would keep him around especially since Carl is no longer there.

reply

In the comics I've heard that the relationship between Carl and Lydia was an important part of the Whisperer conflict. Carl's storyline had been divided between Judith (who died as an infant in the print version) and Henry. So I kinda figured Henry was safe for the time being. What will they do with Lydia now? Her story going forward will obviously have to be different. I'll be interested to see how Carol responds to Henry's death.

reply

Enid. She was growing into a leader but alas.

reply

Tara , Enid & Henry are the only ones I really know.

reply

I felt bad about those three, the older adoptive mother and the Highway man. Most shocking death was Henry's only because of Carol's reaction which reminds me of Sophia.

reply

Speaking of her discovering Oceanside... I guess with the time jump finding out what happened to Heath is totally out of the question?

reply

LOL!

You read my mind.

I keep asking this question (it's probably moot now that Tara is dead) but I remember one poster telling me that we'd find out what happened to Heath in the spin-off TV movie/show concerning what happened to Rick. I don't know how true that is, but I for one would really like to know what the heck happened to Heath.

reply

I heard the same thing about Heath. It appears they want him to return. I'd like to know why people never make it back except Jadis.

reply

Apparently Heath figures into the further adventures of Rick Grimes movie sequence. We'll at least get to find out what happened to him, and the producers are trying to get Corey Hawkins to reprise his role for those movies.

reply

I hope you're right. I like that idea. It would make sense if he was one of the people (a 'B' perhaps) Jadis captured and gave to her offscreen contacts.

reply

He went to make a new season of 24, and I'm not sure if they're doing another one since it's been a couple years.

reply

Offscreen death was the worst kind of death, ROFLMAO.

reply

Probably Enid.

reply

This was the first episode in a long time I felt shocked and saddened by character(s) deaths. Wish there was more emotion like this for Carl's death. Anyway, I would say I was upset the most by Enid. Tara also. Surprised they actually killed off "main" characters.

There are too many characters on the show and they need to condense the cast of main characters. You will go episodes without seeing Carol, etc. Thats why the first seasons were great, you would always keep up with the main crew.
