Bryce Howard interview about her weight and casting

She says she’s tired of having conversations with filmmakers wanting her to lose weight for roles and that she tried not to “shame” them for it.

Shame them? Filmmakers want actors to play specific characters and that includes how they look physicality.

If the actress wants the role, they can lose the weight. If not, move on.

But don’t gripe about it or “shame” the filmmaker for what they want.

Howard said the director of her latest movie, “Argylle,” Matthew Vaughn, hired her for her acting and not her weight which she commended.

Guess she doesn’t realize he hired her because she’s overweight and dumpy looking since that’s the role she’s playing.

He also cast the fit and gorgeous Dua Lipa to play her role.

And the not overweight Cavill and Rockwell to play action heroes.

See how that works?

I actually thought that maybe she intentionally gained weight for this role since she is playing the out-of-shape and out-of-practice version of a spy who's been sitting at a writing desk for five years. I guess not.

reply

Nope. She’s been hefty for a few years now.

reply

*looks at screencap in link* We're calling that overweight now?

reply

Oh yeah.

reply

I saw Argylle yesterday and she really is a chubby girl in that film. She has definitely plumped up since The Village or, more recently, Jurassic World.

reply

He expects every woman to be a Hollywood 10. He should kill himself.

reply

Let's not trade one maximum for another.

reply

No such thing as a 10 — though Alexandra Daddario got pretty damn close.

And who is “he”?

reply

Let me introduce you to the incredible Halle Berry 😇

Quite possibly the most flawless human being in the history of human beings 🙏🏾

reply

Funny you say that, because the talk of "10s" not existing came up in a post about Halle, and I had to think about if there was any flaw when she was at her peak hotness, and I couldn't think of one!

reply

I'm skeptical how many "filmmakers" are telling Ron Howard's daughter to lose weight. That's a family that can get you blacklisted with a phone call.

reply

Right!

reply

The directors not looking for dumpy looking actresses to fill certain roles.

reply

Sounds like she wants to have her nepotism cake and eat it!

reply

i'm more worried about the pounds of makeup she has on for a simple promo interview
