How many people hate this film but haven't seen it???

Just wondering.... 😂

reply

I don't hate, I'm just not interested. The last Disney produced Lucasfilm movie that I saw in theater was The Force Awakens. It left me totally cold. The rest of the Star Wars movies I catched on blu-ray and they weren't any better. I suspect its the same with this Indy 5. They go through the obligatory motions, but lack a real and original vision. They think that showing some old fan favourites on big screen is enough for the audience to cheer and clap their hands like some weak minded.

You may now wonder, what I'm doing on this board if I'm not interested. That's a good question. I'm more curious about people's reactions to the movie than the movie itself.

reply

Well these films usually do go through the motions. Look at Return of the Jedi....

I thought this new Indy had a few new things to offer. We see Indy older, retired and weary...

You should know by now that Kathleen Kennedy is a soulless hack, because so far she has not created anything original.

Lucas and Spielberg had their failures, but they created something out of nothing.

reply

Well I wasn't a huge fan of the sequel trilogy.

Nerdrotic and others save me money and time

Good for you...

reply

Didn't hate it, but certainly didn't love it. I haven't decided yet if I rate it above or below Kingdom.

reply

Fair enough.

I had not intentions of seeing this due to Kennedy being a producer..then my son bought me an online ticket for my birthday so we went.

I actually really enjoyed it. Way better then Crystal Skull.

reply

Cool. I really enjoyed it as well. Not the best. But didn't expect it to be the best. Probably extra special for you since it was your birthday and your son was with you...

reply

I liked it. My least favorite Indiana Jones movie is Temple of Doom. Yeah. I do like Crystal Skull more than Temple of Doom.

I finally watched this. I was a little disappointed to discover it simply wasn't a very good movie. I was expecting woke stuff and feminist stuff and everything else the haters said about it. But instead I got a fairly dull film with terribly executed action sequences. Even when Crystal Skull sucked, it was kind of riveting and exciting to watch. And funny even if the gags were rope snakes in quicksand. This was just a dreary slog. I thought the premise and characters involved were all solid ideas. Just nothing much came of them. Very clear to me why it's a box office disappointment. Fans aren't avoiding it. There's just nothing much to see here.

reply

Well it was definitely not as fast paced. After the opening sequence and than Indy escape through the streets of New York it was a bit slower paced. I thought Itnwaa a good film. But yeah not the best. I don't think most people are staying away due to bad reviews. Because audiences scores are really good. I just don't think there is all that much interest in Indy anymore.....

reply

Most movies I would not bother watching, in the cinema at least, but since this is the last ever Indiana Jones, I thought I'd make an exception.

reply

I'm not going to see it because Crystal Skull was such a huge letdown. When Spielberg let's you down you quietly pick up your toys and go home.

reply

Well it's better than Crystal skull. Critics were more reserved in their reviews this time. But yeah I don't think you would like. Indys much older and hea definitely not doing the stuff he used to.
I liked it though. Not the best but good.

I heard it was 👍
