What a disaster - Tom Hanks cast!
Absolute nightmare this.
Love Wes Anderson's films but I simply will not watch anything containing the so called actor Tom Hanks.
Why not?
Personal boycott of Tom Hanks.
Haven't watched anything he's in since Private Ryan and unfortunately, despite loving Wes Anderson, I won't break it to watch this.
Unfortunately Wes Anderson does love recasting the same folks so I may possibly be in bigger trouble in future...
i'll tug....why the boycott? what dont you like about america's dad, Thomas Jeffrey Hanks? You will watch his stuff only before saving private ryan?
shareEh, no. Never really thought about that but I haven't watched any Hanks pre or post Ryan since watching Ryan.
I have however watched and for the most part loved all of Anderson's stuff. But sadly now, that's over.
I see he's also cast Scarlet Johansson and Margot Robbie for this though, so I guess no great loss. He's obviously now operating on a different plane...
OK...BUT WHY DON'T YOU WATCH TOM HANKS MOVIES?...WHAT IS REASON FOR THE BOYCOTT?
shareI just refused to accept his performance in Saving Private Ryan. Walked out the cinema half way through (for the only time in my life) after his clearly deliberately hokey, take me seriously, Oscar baiting church scene. Made me feel ill.
Anyway, never watched anything with him in it since.
Dang you missed a killer ending battle sequence. One of the technically best made films of all time.

What about Asteroid City itself, dis you see it? Not sure if I really missed much with this one. But tbh I wasn't that impressed with Isle Of Dogs or The French Dispatch anyway...
