Is Harrison going to have his own show?

Looks like it might be headed that way.

reply

No. The whole point of the ending was Harrison being set free. He's just a mixed up kid with a lot of baggage.

I'd take a Bautista manhunter show though.

reply

That’s not going to happen. Harrison is not a serial killer and what we’d see is Harrison living his life and then what. This was about Dexter and he can’t be replaced. They could have done this whole thing differently. They bring Dexter back because original didn’t do a good job at the end and then they do the same thing.

reply

After seeing the ending, I agree. I thought that it was moving toward Harrison having the same strong desire to kill, but I don't feel as if he is going to have that need. Case closed.

Some spoilers,
Actually, it is quite devastating if you think about it. Here’s Harrison - loses his mother to a violent death, goes to South America and loses his guardian to pancreatic cancer, abandoned by dad Dexter - he has anger issues as a teen - travels and finds dad - but eventually fits in in this small community (something Dexter had to struggle faking). Gets a girlfriend, has lots of friends, celebrated by the community and school, bonds with dad over Christmas, does well scholastically in school - and now what - kills his dad -??? What’s even worse kills dad because dad says to. Even Dexter couldn’t do that - kill Harry. So now - what’s his life - he has to get out of town, has some serious cash but can’t deposit it anywhere, he’ll have to take another identity, he’s now without a circle of family and friends, at 16 before he graduated from high school - how does one live with the killing of their father because he’s basically a good kid with a conscience - all so they could do this ridiculous finale. Son kills father. And at the end, Dexter was out of character. He would never kill Logan and he would never of think of the joys of killing as father and son in a city similar city to Miami, Los Angeles. Oh the fun they will have…Always one to keep his dark side from the public, just because Harrison hurts a bully in a wrestling match doesn’t make him carry the same passion for killing that Dexter exhibited. Harrison was nauseous when he sees dad and the plastic and nine bags needed for the body parts. This series had potential.

I don't think so. I think the whole idea behind this season (whether they'd admit it or not) was to try to make up for the unsatisfying final season of the original series. I think in killing Dexter, Harrison was in a sense killing that part of him that had these dark urges and with the death of Logan he gained realization that Dexter's system and code were flawed and would only lead to more tragedy.

That said, this did such big numbers for Showtime it wouldn't be hard to picture them trying to keep drinking from the well if possible.

reply

They blew up the well.

reply

Maybe, but I'd rather it be a fitting closure to Dexter's life.

reply

Sure, but I didn't care so much for how it ended. Pretty predictable how it closed.

reply

I know it's unpopular but I really did like it. I think it made sense for his life to end, and in that way.

The problem for me is not so much how it ended, but the way they got to that ending. It felt very rushed & haphazard. I really felt that there should have been at least 2 more episodes so they could play things out better to get to that ending. Teasing & then falling flat on a Dexter-Batista conflict, and Angela's flimsy "suspicion" about him being the BHB made the ending an epic lazy fail.

reply

Maybe Dexter reveals he was wearing a bulletproof vest and used fake blood in order to fake his death so Harrison can think he killed Dexter so he won't come looking for him again and get away.

reply

i am sure that is what they have planned. count me out. will not watch at all.

nope. not interested.

reply

I wanna say no because that kid is soooo obviously not leading man material, but after some of the decisions they've made with that show, I wouldn't put it past them.

reply

They could recast, but I think that it isn't going to happen. Harrison isn't Dexter.

reply

I could see Harrison killing bad people. Aside from witnessing a murder, he didn't have a problem with Dexter killing Kurt. He did, however, have a huge problem with him killing Logan. I still can't believe they did that. Like, what was the point. TO make us dislike Dexter after 9 years?

reply

I doubt there will be any show without Michael C. Hall...

reply

At this point I no longer think that is going to happen. The ending wasn't very good once again and Harrison looked to go in a different direction that takes him away from his serial killing father's ways.
