Who would you have cast as Gomez?
I don't care that Louis Guzman looks like the drawing, his acting is terrible. I would have cast Antonio Banderas, or Pedro Pascal.

I kinda found myself cringing every time Guzman had a line. For one thing, you could tell that he doesn't actually know the words his character was using, but also every line came off as though he can't act worth sh*t.
Indeed, both Antonio Banderas and Pedro Pascal would have been much better choices. Heck, even John Leguizamo would have been a much better choice.
He's not even a main character!
shareI would have cast Chris Elliott. Every comedy is better with Chris Elliott. He is younger than Guzman but he is not a Latino. He would be similar to the John Astin casting of the 1960's. The character does not have to be latino since Gomez is a Sephardic Jewish name and Addams is an Anglo name.
shareHard to live up to the late, great Raul Julia (not to mention John Astin's madcap 1960s version of the character). You'd need someone with charisma and STYLE who can do very passionate and over-the-top ACTINGGGGGGGGGGG!
I loved Raul Julia's portrayal of Gomez Addams, especially the very passionate and over-the-top ACTINGGGGGGGGGGG!

I agree with your picks, but if not Banderas or Pascal, maybe Lin-Manuel Miranda for his theatricality.
shareI don't watch this show, but I think that Antonio Banderas would be perfect. He's great in everything he does anyway. Plus he would fit the character better as Gomez was originally a Spaniard and so is Antonio.
