Do you think this Would've of been Better if it was Directed By A Woman

well

reply

It couldn't have been worse and so yes, anyone who is not that woman hating Paul Feig - anyone, regardless of gender - would have directed a better movie.

reply

mostly the writing the problem, why ignore the original

reply

Stupid OP post, the gender of director or actor or writer does not make any difference to how good the movie will be.

There are good and bad writers and directors, both genders.

reply

I agree! Now if the question was simply would you think the movie would have been better with a different director I still would have said no because that script is sh*t

reply

I don't think a change of director would have helped, maybe a change of concept would have been better? The movie isn't terrible but of course it's not as good as the original, and the constant references to the 1984 film really invited unkind comparisons. A movie about the same characters becoming a team for some reason might have been much better.

But that wouldn't have been "pre-sold", so it never would have been made.

reply

They had better special effects now--so they really had to work to mess it up

They could have had
Secretary being remotely competent
Student of one of the Professors (which is what they originally were) discovering the research and deciding they can go into business too
The older professors training slimmer while the newer ones go out

reply

I think this movie would've done better if it was directed by my ass.

reply

If the woman actually put in the original cast members and some news ones and set the tone as something that captured the vibe of the first two films then it could have been fine. Paul was just right out of his head.

reply

It needed a transgender director.

Plus a different script.

Plus better casting.

Plus any reason at all for doing a remake of a classic; other than greed and a complete bankruptcy of imagination, that is.

Plus a more articulate and less lazy topic OP.

PS Uh, OP? Yes, you, the one with the bong. Your topic's title is an interrogatory sentence. That means, it asks a question. THAT means is requires a question mark (this thing: ?) at its end. Otherwise, people who are like I am might think that you just shot this topic out of your ass without a scintilla of actual, you know, thought.

reply

Paul Feig IS a woman...

reply

It would have been better to have an original story, or one of those "pass-the-torch" stories. Doesn't matter if it was filmed by a woman or not.
