Im afraid this will flop rather hard, time for superhero movies to be put on hold for a long time.

reply

Told ya, now we can be best friends again.

reply

It will out gross the flush

reply

Probably, dumb movies sometimes make a lot of money. But we are still friends right?

reply

Yes we are, we flopped on a 100 million budget.

reply

We sure did, we need to do better on our budgets.

Another comedy from Marvel? Shocker.

reply

Even most of the "positive" reviews have a fair amount of criticism.

reply

In a "coincidence" event, after starting with around 50% rotten, the reviews started being positive and positive until it landed on 60% fresh.

How lucky of Disney.
Some people would accuse them of bought reviews until it becomes fresh.

reply

Perhaps some of the stupider conspiracy theorists might, but those who understand how the world works know better, and will laugh at those morons. Next you'll be telling me Disney is buying tickets to their own movies! Oh wait, some cretins actually believe that, too!

reply

Wait you mean reviews... COULD BE "FIXED"???

NOOOOOOOOOO!! MY WHOLE WORLD COLLAPSING!!!

haaahaahaahaha

reply

Yup, this pretty much happens every time. They all seem to JUST get to fresh when the rating is real low. Weird huh?

reply

Darn those white men that don't go to see this!!!
It's all their fault for hating powerful women, incels, patriarchy that invented and built everything women use, misogyny, etc etc blah blah barf hahahaahaa

I guess Larsons advertised boob shots didn't do enough for it, huh?

"The Marvels" starts its wide release today so you'll get a better selection of reviews, and it's already up to 61%+ at RT. I'm seeing the movie today at 3PM local time in Imax 3D.

reply

now at 62% Fresh

(No intentional SPOILERS but I could screw things up...) I saw the movie earlier today in Imax 3D and found it to be very entertaining, maybe my 2nd favorite post-"Endgame" MCU movie behind "Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings". It covered all the bases of being fun, funny, actiony, dramatic, sad, etc., and it did it well while looking great. The movie has some fun things going on but is also a bit heavy and tragic at times. Nick Fury has a bit to do and wasn't a total waste in the film. Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan is a more believable teenager than Tom Holland as Peter Parker, and is entertaining as a young super hero. They use Kamala's family quite a bit in the movie and don't really explain her power set all that well, so you might want to check out the very good and fun "Ms. Marvel" Disney+ series if you haven't watched it yet. Brie Larson as Captain Marvel has some cool scenes and one super OP scene. The movie becomes a Bollywood style musical for a few minutes and it is somehow awesome. The antagonist Dar-Benn had a bit of depth. Probably the weakest character for me was Teyonah Parris' Monica Rambeau and she wasn't bad or anything, but it is another case of her power set being not particularly well defined. There were a couple of cute and silly scenes and they worked and made me laugh. There's one quick scene right before the credits begin that hopefully sets up some fun and entertaining future projects, and a mid credits scene that plays into the upcoming big franchise wide crossover event(s). I had a good time and might go see it again at the theater.
