Did people forget about Dany's look into the future in season 2?

When she was in the house of undying she saw a vision of the future, she was in the throne room and it was all in ruins and burnt with ashes everywhere. And Bran had a vision in season 4 where he saw the shadow of her dragon flying over Kings Landing. What she did really shouldn't be a shock, the entire show has been building to her becoming her father and burning everything.

I know alot think it was just so sudden without any proper build up, but the build up was there all the time.

YouTube video as proof? I don't remember that, but I do remember seeing the Iron Throne room in ruins with snow everywhere, I think it was Bran's vision.

that's snow. back when "Winter is Coming" meant something huge

Why would snow be at Kings Landing? Winter came already this season and Kings Landing still looked like Florida with no snow in sight. After what Dany did looking back why would that be snow and not ashes?

reply

yeah, one of the many questions about things that weren't paid off. did you think they started out with "Winter is Coming" to settle it with a singular battle at one location? They didnt know exactly where they were going. And in fairness to them, you dont know what you'll be able to do down the road to wrap it all up. It's all ripe with possibilities that are left open early on, but these shows rarely stick the landing. Some fans now are just going back to make it seem like it all fits from the start. The description in the link you posted refers to it as snow -- just like everyone said at the time that episode aired. The wind is howling as she enters, her footsteps crunch as she walks, and the scene connects directly to her going thru the gate of the wall into the snowy north.

Just watch the video you linked to.
I don’t know, maybe you live in a place where it doesn’t snow, but this clearly IS snow. Maybe they did it to mislead us into believing that the White Walkers will win.

clearly snow. What a moron.

Bran and Dany had visions of the future.

reply

That’s not ashes, that’s snow. You can’t really tell whether it’s burned or just fallen into ruin. And the dragon flying over King’s Landing was in Bran’s vision.

I never trusted that vision because it’s quite possible that it was merely conjured up by Pyat Pree. And even if it isn’t, at best it vaguely points at the chance that she might fail. It doesn’t foreshadow her madness or her burning down the city.

reply

Yeah i said Bran had that vision in season 4.

And it clearly implies she'll destroy the throne and city, why would her being in a ruin of the throne just be implying she will fail to get the throne?

Why would a throne that is NOT destroyed imply that she destroys it?

reply

I'm pretty sure it's snow, because following that doesn't she go through The Wall and see Khal Drogo in a tent beyond it, or something?

It's the kind of vision that was probably supposed to relate to something later on in the show/story but has now been rendered meaningless as a result of how this show has turned out.

The problem I have is not that she did it, but that it happened so suddenly. One episode, she's on the good guy team, then she loses a dragon and her BFF gets her head chopped off and all of a sudden, all the other good guys consider her insane beyond hope and are plotting to overthrow her. The next minute she is proving them right by nuking King's Landing.

There should have been at LEAST 3 episodes between Missandei's execution and Daenerys's attack. It was way too rushed.

Haven't forgotten. For years I've been saying that it shows a reunion with her dead husband and baby, which means she dies before the end of the story.

And that SNOW ON THE IRON THRONE predicts Jon becoming king.

We shall see in a few days.

Thinks two shots equal long term story build up.
