Who do you want or predict on the throne in the series finale?

Who do you want or predict on the throne in the series finale? Some say Danny will die after giving birth to Jon/Aegon's daughter, and, everyone else will die so Jon's kid will rule with someone as steward but who?

reply

Back when GRRM was still on board, it would have been anyone's guess who would wind up on the throne in the end. Now, though, seeing the fan-service direction things are going, it's almost certain to be Jon/Aegon and Daenerys ruling jointly as King and Queen.

reply

I'm sure to keep it true to GOT like, they will have her hate he is heir and break them up. Otherwise if they go the obvious, then I will join the no names so I can take vengeance on the writers!

reply

I can't see them being divided by this. Jon won't break the oath he's given unless Dani chooses to release him from it. Of course I don't think there's going to be a happy ending for them either. At least one will die fighting against the Night King. Maybe Jon and Daenerys both fall, and their son (the prince who was promised) winds up with Arya as his regent, having promised her dying "brother" she would protect him.

I can imagine lots of unexpected twists. For example Tyrion ending up on the Iron Throne. As a peacetime ruler he might even be the best choice. Or there's a bloodbath and just about all the main characters are killed off, leaving Lyanna Mormont to take the throne. If I were writing the show I'd make it look like the most obvious cliché thing was going to happen right up until the last minute, then suddenly throw a curve ball. Maybe HBO will do the same thing. We'll find out next year I guess.

reply

I hope it won't be obvious

reply

What are you talking about "fan service"? Since they're largely off books Dan and Dave have a blueprint given to them by GRRM telling them what must happen to bring it around to where it'll end like his books. Here's a video that tells that:

reply

I want a nice happy ending. Jon and Danny together ruling, I'd even be happy with just Danny surviving. I think it would be awesome if at least 1 dragon survived also but I doubt that 1. I hope Arya changes faces and takes care of all of the main ones that are still alive from her list.

reply

I know eh. I'm sad too at the thought but since there are no dragons now, they can't let them live...or can they?

reply

Ummm…
While I do think that the dragons won’t survive, I’m not sure what you’re meaning with »since there are no dragons now, they can't let them live«.

Are you saying: »Since there are no dragons in our world, they must become extinct«?
IF that is what you’re saying, then – no, they dont have to. After all, it’s not our world we’re seeing in GoT.

If you were saying something different, then could you elaborate?

reply

Nope. You got it. And ya I agree.

reply

If there were three dragon eggs to give Dani as a wedding gift, there must be others. It seems like they can sit dormant for a very long time. Plus, who knows? Two of her dragons were chained under the pyramid in Meereen for a while, with nothing much to do. Maybe they made some new ones.

reply

I was thinking the same thing.

reply

Ok, so here is my prediction. Take out of it whatever you may.

Bran. Yes, Bran.

Why? A number of reasons. First he's the first character we see in the show. Second, he's the wisest person in the whole show because he's the Three-Eyed Raven.

Knowing Dany's ruthlessness I predict that she'll burn Jon/Aegon with a dragon as soon as she finds out that he's the heir to the iron throne. Then someone would likely kill her because of that and Bran would be the only logical choice to the iron throne to prevent things like Robert's rebellion in the future.

My best attempt at logical GOT fanfiction.

reply

Sam will accidentally get crowned King.

reply

I'd actually like to see Sansa and Tyrion on the iron throne, but I think it'll just be Jon.

Partly because of all the genre cliches that GRRM twists and plays with and then comes back to, and partly because of Dany's season 2 vision of snow on the iron throne. Get it? Snow on the throne???

reply

Robert's hammer weilding bastard son is still in the picture!

reply

Again I say..no one will end up on the throne as it currently exists..But I don't want a total annihilation. That's not a good ending anymore than everything too neat and tidy.
I want some payoff.

I'm already figuring that of those characters I like...
Jon, Daenery, Ayra, Sansa, Bran, Tyrion, Jaime, Bronn, the Hound, Davos, Brienne, Gendry, Tormund, Varys, Grey Worm, Missandei, Ghost and 2 Dragons........
....................................................that only Bronn and Gendry and Bran out of these might make it for certain.

I think Jaime, the Hound, Davos, Tormund, Grey Worm, Brienne are sure deaths...and either Jon and Daenery or both aren't very safe either..And for Tyrion and Ghost I'm crossing my fingers.
I do think Daenery is most certainly pregnant though. Too much foreshadowing.
But babies don't make good rulers.

reply

I was thinking the kid that bakes pies now, becomes the bake king?

reply

The Wight King. I think the last scene will be him sitting on the throne with a smirk on his face.

reply

A tragedy ending, how French of you.

reply

Yes, but it does allow for a series spin off.

How Russian, Ethiopian, Italian, Spanish, Australian, and Korean to think my ending is tragic.

reply

A tragedy is a story with a tragic ending. Everyone will agree the dead winning would fit the definition.

reply

True.

reply

Scubasteve

reply

Wrong. Captain Underpants because he is Scubasteve's older brother.

reply

Strangely, I'm not invested in anyone in particular winning. I just anticipate it coming together in an interesting way.

reply

Fair answer. A true fan. Although you'd be disappointed if Tickle Me Elmo is throned?
