Why do people seem to like this more than 2 and 3?

Don't get me wrong, 2 and 3 are far from perfect, but I'm surprised people's appreciation for 2 and 3 didn't grow after this movie. At least 2 and 3 felt a part of the Jurassic Park Universe. This movie didn't feel anything like the old ones, I'm not saying I wanted a rehash or anything, but this felt really dumb, just all around, zero effort was put into the characters, writing, directing. It all felt small scale and dumb. That's all I thought throughout the movie.

I know the science in the 1st movie isn't accurate, but it was at least presented in a way that was believable.

Because most people these days are brain-dead idiots that prefer garbage like Transformers or Jurassic World over anything that can even remotely be considered art.

You know, I get that not everybody must jerk off to Citizen Kane or 2001 Space Odyssey, neither do I, it's fine, but come on...

Yeah, cause' Jurassic Park III is considered art, right? Lol. Give us a break!

Jurassic Park III is a tired chase film that, while has fun moments, barely attempts anything new or interesting.
It's obvious why Jurassic World is preferred: It tries and accomplishes both the aforementioned aspects, while also being more riveting.

i really don't like Owen. they just try too hard and go out of their way to show us "this guy's a bad ass" it's even in dialogue. Annoying. I like Grant and Malcom much better.

Yep. Trevorrow might have been able to remake the narrative beats of Jurassic Park but he certainly couldn’t make characters as likeable and memorable as Grant, Malcolm and Sattler.

I actually liked JP3 already when it was released, because I lowered my expectations after the boring JP2 and JP3 is actually fun.

Kind of the same happened to me with JW2, I thought JW was going to be a "serious" sequel so after seeing what a cartoon it was I went to JW2 with low expectations and enjoyed it more.

Some people seem to be of the mindset of "reboot equals better than other sequels," possibly out of a desire for something that had been in the works for so long to be good.

I couldn't stand the Jurassic World movie. Would totally thanos snap it out of existence. 2 and 3 were actually fun. Part three more so than two as two had some annoying tropes that I couldn't stand.

You know something?? I have never watched the 2nd or 3rd movie.. Not once.. I think the reason I never bothered watching the 2nd one is because of the clip I saw with the Brontosaurus burning up in the Lava when they were getting off the island and this thing screaming and I couldn't handle it.. I pussed out.. I felt sorry for the damn thing and the 3rd movie almost seemed like a retread of the 1st movie
