A movie looks hopelessly dated 20 years hence

If there is a lot of computer stuff in it.

reply

Yup.

It should be all iPads and touch screen uh screens like in CSI.

And cyborgs and flying cars.

Imagine how dated the ff are without modern touchscreen phones, tablets, computers, etc:

- Gone with the Wind
- Dances with Wolves
- Goodfellas
- Lawrence of Arabia
- The Godfather
- LA Confidential
- Band of Brothers

reply

You must have missed the couple of text exchanges in Dances with Wolves!! ;)

reply

Yeah haha, I watched this for the first time the other day and couldn't help but laugh out loud at how dated it looks/is. Sigourney Weaver was awesome in it and her performance was very strong, but every one else feels underdeveloped or just not into their role. Connick Jr does his best but even he felt pretty hokey, looking it up afterwards I'm surprised it got such a good reception because It's very much a by the numbers thriller/suspense romp with out much of a pay off.

reply

I couldn't disagree more.

reply

That makes two of us. Thank
you. You have to be a very shallow person to judge a film by the technology in it.

reply

Who cares, what difference does it make? It's still a kick ass movie.

reply

The Op wishes he lived in that time.

reply

I watched a movie the other day where an archaeologist tried to find the ark of the covenant. LOL, why didn't the idiot just Google it?

reply

Bringing up Baby looks dated. It's still entertaining though.

reply

All movies look dated after 20 years even without old tech to laugh at. The funny thing is that after 40 years it doesn't matter anymore and people start to appreciate the film again - assuming it was any good in the first place.

Huge mouse arrow and the windows were probably windows 2.0..
