Doesn't hold up
Really difficult to watch today. Not funny. Not interesting.
shareI watched it again recently and it seems just as funny/relevant/entertaining today as in 1994. What about the film do you think hasn't aged well?
shareFor starters, all the boredom these kids seem saddled with would be completely replaced by staring at smartphones. They'd be even less interesting.
shareThat's true.
Just today I was walking on the sidewalk and some young lady was walking toward me staring down at her phone.
I decided to walk right into her path, but I didn't want to actually run into her, and she barely took notice.
I think there must be some Sociological ramifications for all this Cell Phone obeyance, but it's too all-pervasive to call into question. Just Life in the Big Shitty
Lol. I do that on purpose. I make a beeline for an inattentive moron scuttling the streets staring at his phone, just to rattle them for a moment that they're about to have a collision. Sometimes it even works...
sharelol i hate that this is how people are these days. even my kids are like that which is why during the day i don't let them use their tablets, especially in the summer i put them in programs so they are not home all day and are forced to interact with other children (i work remotely at home). even when they do their chores the try and have their tablet in their hand it's crazy.
as a kid i was obsessed with my nintendo but when my parents told me to get dressed or go do my chores, i knew to turn the game and the tv off and do the work.
Rewatched it a few weeks back and I totally disagree. I’ve probably watched it every hand full of years since it came out and it always hits for me.
