one vacation in the entire series.

Wouldn't that reflect most people's lives? They had interesting and presumably well paid jobs, except for Joey whose pay probably varies from job to job. A lot of sitcoms were like that though, restrained to a few different sets and usually indoors.
shareIts a sitcom. Dont treat it like a real life. Sitcoms are based somewhere in parallel reality. They never look like those are real people living in real world.
That why I never liked sitcoms. Because they just feel fake and unrealistic. And people have unrealistic problems in it.
