Which is better, 1 or 2?

From what I remember #2 had a subplot where the family was stuck in a hotel because it was constantly raining in Miami. If so, that is pretty stupid.

1 is much better yet 2 is still entertaining

Both great films but I slightly prefer the 1st film because I prefer it taking place at home and it was the very first movie I ever saw in the theaters.

I think 1 is much better and a classic; 2 is alright and has some good moments.

The first film is so much better. Lost in New York rehashes the same story beats from the first film with little original charm of its own. I did enjoy Tim Curry and the comedic pratfalls were just as funny as they are in the first film.

Both are equally as good but part 1 has more charm and simplicity

I agree, I remember watching Home Alone 1 in Dec 90 when I was stationed at an Air Force Base in south Florida. I thought it was pretty good. After the Hurricane wiped S. Florida out they shipped me to South Korea and I saw Home Alone 2 on Laserdisc and I was surprised that a sequel stood up to the original for once.

Yeah. The subplot was dumb. They tried to make a parallel joke about having to watch TV in Spanish in Miami like they did with French in the first film, as if English TV channels aren´t available in Miami. lol
