A few years ago, I saw Candace interviewed and she asked why the black community (and, thus, America at large) is consistently asked to elevate criminals and thugs to hero status. A damn good question. How many black women and men live day to day the way everyone else does, working hard, trying to pay bills, etc., only to be upstaged by scum like George Floyd (and he is scum; regardless of what you think/believe about his death, his record as a scumbag cannot be disputed). What about the great black thinkers and artists of today? They exist. Why aren't they exalted? I'm an old school liberal, which means I consider any and all Americans my neighbors, my peers, and I hate to see any of my fellow Americans degraded the way the establishment (sometimes called "the left") degrades black Americans.

Whether he was or not is still up for debate. But the OP was asking why he's more beloved than every other black person who were vastly better people than him.

There’s zero evidence that Floyd was a victim of racism. Not even the prosecution tried that one.

But yes, it is fucked up that woke sickos tried to pretend that was the case so they could dump on whites.

Remember the 10 minute video where guy suffocate him to death while in custody?

Some people took that - another black man dying in custody , given the historical context of centuries of racism , to be racism. Maybe they were wrong.

At the end of the day he suffered a fatal injustice at the hands of the police regardless of color.
And the fact he was a violent criminal scumbag has zero relevance.

In point of fact Floyd died of a drug overdose and asked to be put on the ground. Being knelt on may not have helped things but you cannot conclude that he was killed by Chauvin.

And there is zero evidence of it being some kind of racially motivated attack, all that is just politicised bullshit to stoke more hatred of whites.

Floyd being a scumbag who shoved a gun at a pregnant woman’s belly while his pals burgled her house (amongst a host of other evil crimes) is absolutely relevant because the Left try go hail him as some kind of saint. He’s not a saint, he was an evil piece of shit who fucked around and found out.

That is why Chauvin pulled him out the their vehicle, then knelt on him until he could not find a pulse, then kept his knee on Floyd's back for another two minutes. Chauvin had to ensure Floyd was dead before they brought him to jail, right?

So how was it an overdose of drugs when it appeared to be an overdose of knee on the back without a pulse?

A lot - like me. But I just go about my work and life like my white neighbors, and they are also upstaged by media "darlings" like Floyd. When you have an agenda to push that doesn't supply much evidence, you take what you can get - even someone as fundamentally flawed as George Floyd.

Since we're in the George Floyd page, I'll say unequivocally that I hate George Floyd and I hate Derek Chauvin. I hate Floyd because the left (not classic liberals like you which are a dying breed) hoists him up as some kind of great guy who was the victim or systemic racism as if he was on the way to church and summarily executed.

I hate Derek Chauvin because he was a cop who gave the "defund" and "all whites are racist" groups video evidence that "supports" their claim.

I have a hunch that is has to do with something Glenn Loury said a few years ago as well.

I can’t quote him verbatim but it was along the lines of: “we have to fix the pathological deficiency that is ubiquitous amongst us”.

Guilt tripping and shaming the average White person will only get them so far but it won’t fix the in house problems that they clearly have.

Is a false question: nobody ever asked anybody to elevate Floyd as a hero. You don't have to be a hero to expect not to be murdered by police.
