Why isn't she more successful?

Some years ago she was set to be one of the biggest stars but she never quite reached that potential and while she gets work she is quite below the likes of Emma Stone, Lawrence, Margot and such. What gives? She clearly has the talent and is even better than the ones I mentioned.

Why has Anya Taylor-Joy been successful ? Because she was the main character in the popular high quality TV series ' The Queen's Gambit '. But productions that good are rare these days. Dakota hasn't been successful because for the most part the industry has been producing mediocre content.

I think she's had a hard time transitioning to adult roles. Saw her on Alienist and still thought of her as a kid.

Ya, it's also a bit harder when they (child actors) take a break & then return.

She also has a "baby face". She's in "mature roles" but doesn't quite look it imo.

Same with Zendaya & Emma Watson.

It doesn't matter. Such a role is a career ender in our century. If she wanted to start out like that, she should've been born 30 years earlier, like Brooke Shields.

It's a normal for child actors. The only exception I can think of is Christian Bale.
