What do we all think of him?

I like some of his songs and stuff, and "Lose Yourself" is actually a pretty good song but overall my opinion on Eminem and his music ranges from indifferent to disappointing. Not a complete distractor me but definitely not a fan. You?

reply

He was apparently big when I was in high school. Honestly, though, I don't remember anyone who listened to him back then. We had Rap Fans but most were into Ice Cube, Ice Tea, Coolio, Biggie Smalls, and Puff Daddy. Today, I don't know anyone who listens to him. I don't but that's because rap isn't my taste.
Take that for what it's worth.

reply

I'm a fan. I like a lot of his songs. I think he is definitely one of the better rappers.

reply

He turned into a douchebag, but he made legit waves in the industry at his peak.

reply

Considering he's the guy that rapped about killing his baby mama and dissed his actual mom, I feel like the signs were there. Is it really surprising if he's a douchebag?

reply

I was a big fan when he first came out. Now not so much. I think it's his newer stuff isn't that good. I kind of moved away from it. Definitely very talented.

reply

I'm definitely a huge fan. He's my favorite artist. Some of his newer stuff isn't that good but he had quite a great long run. I would say he fell off after 2017 but still a fantastic artist regardless.

reply

Fell off after 2017? You’re off by more than a decade. He fell off in 2004, with Encore

reply

He released Recovery in 2010 and Marshall Mathers LP 2 in 2013. Those are fantastic albums. Not to mention, Encore still had a good portion of some of his best work.

reply

He was a huge deal in the 1990s-late 00’s. Since 2004, not so much. Today, all of the magic is gone

reply

Yes he was and is still a huge deal now. He's still breaking records to this day. The quality of his music has certainly died down now for sure but he's had a much longer run in terms of quality than 2004. Like I said previously, Recovery (2010) and Marshall Mathers LP 2 (2013) were both major albums for him as well.

reply

I think the magic is gone for music in general. there has been no new innovation or new music style since 2010ish?

music today is dull and stale. my rock radio station still has to play music from the 90's to fill in the time.

reply

He's great! I've been a fan since 1999. Eminem is also a fellow Michigander!

reply

I said I'm sorry mama. I never meant to hurt you! I never meant to make you cry, but tonight, I'm demanding nice new wallpaper

reply

LOL! Well done.
