no need to politicize this tragedy.

it's just sad on many fronts.

I agree.

There's no need... but people will do it anyway. Why? Because despite everyone claiming they hate politics being dragged into everything, the truth is most people (not all, but a majority) subconsciously crave the "team rivalry" and "point scoring" even if they say the don't. If people didn't like consuming it, the media wouldn't present the story in that way. They make money supplying us with the things we want.

reply

I agree.

I’m sure their will be liberals that will go their usual gun hating tirades but it’s a tragic accident and I would never want to have to live with guilt he will endure for probably the rest of his life.

reply

Quite right, forget politics
A woman is dead and a man is injured because someone got sloppy

A full investigation is in order to figure out how this mess happened

Somebody really screwed up

reply

Baldwin screwed up. I don't dislike him for his personality or his politics but anyone who has ever handled a gun knows not to point it, let alone pull the trigger if they haven't checked it themselves.

reply

The facts are not in so we know almost nothing at this point Rake

This will be a major investigation

As far as Baldwin is concerned he needs to be sweated and the prop department is going to get a microscope up the ass

reply

I'm not fully sure of the details but your point is fair. Tom Savini talked about gun safety and the responsibility of a gun wrangler on set. According to him (day of the dead commentary), bad things happen when the gun wrangler is off for the day. Apparently that happened with Brandon Lee.

reply

more political cause a female was killed in a field dominated by men

reply

You don't think it's important for the people to learn about the dangers of prop guns?
How the fuck does this happen again and again? Perhaps this shit should be publicized more? Clearly the hollywood fucks are ignoring the standard rules regarding the handling of prop guns.

reply

libturds should not be allowed around guns they are too stupid to handle them with the respect that they deserve

reply

First: bad firearm handling is reported constantly.
Second: The biggest with firearm safety is people watching movies/news and assuming they know how people handle firearms.

The best decision a person could make is to take a conceal and carry class. It explains the law and proper safety. Hunters safety is a good second (especially for kids). I'm all for public schools offering this class.

As for this situation, it's a tragedy on all ends and Hollywood stuntmen and gun wranglers know the risk. Someone missed the mark and tragedy ensued. Even with all the regulations and policies involved with filmmaking, this happened. Alec Baldwin pulled the trigger, but he didn't load the gun and plan a murder. He's a victim of circumstance.

"They just f--king AD yelled at me at lunch talking about revisions," she said. "These motherf--kers … Did you see him come up to my desk and yell at me? He's supposed to check the guns. He's responsible for what happened."

reply

I've seen it politicized on both sides. The point that makes the most sense to me is, why is someone who is anti-gun making a movie like this, anyway? So many people, like Robert DeNiro, have made their careers on gun violence, but don't even want people to have guns for protection or hunting. Baldwin has been in a lot of movies where there have been guns on the set.

Having said that, there is therefore no excuse for him not knowing proper gun safety protocol on a set -- which, by all accounts, he ignored.

reply

he wants to take away YOUR guns but he is a member of the hollyweird elite those same rules dont apply to them. they are above the law and can fuck around with guns as much as they want shooting innocent mothers in the face all they want because they are so important making there little gay drama movies
