She's guilty!

reply

She'll have to pay $15 million in damages. He lost a lot more money from movie franchise he lost out of because of her.

reply

But now he in clear the movie studios will be wanting him back (him in Pirates 6 is almost a certainty)

reply

But where will he stable the million alpacas?

reply

No. He said he would not do another pirates even for $300 mill.

reply

No, she will have to pay $8.35 million

The verdict is $10 million in damages and $5 million in punitive. But the punitive damages are capped at $350k by law. Therefore, the total is $10.35 million

Heard won one of her countersuits, awarding her $2 million. Subtract this figure from $10.35 million, and you get $8.35 million

reply

She can file bankruptcy and only have to pay $350K. I don’t think he cares about winning the money from her. Just winning and having support from his fans, and I think he’s hoping some of the movie deals that he lost will come back around. I can even see Depp waiving the amount or even modifying it. If she ends up struggling too much, as she has a baby, I can actually see him helping her out.

She cannot get away from the verdict via bankruptcy —— “ The award is not dischargeable. Punitive damages are never dischargeable or deductible …. Intentional torts like defamation are not dischargeable typically,"

You know I honestly don’t know. I read two articles - one, CBS and the other, Newsweek, and they both said bankruptcy is an option.

The punitive charges are not dischargeable - and they were decreased to $350K, but you might be correct with the $8M. I actually don’t know.

CBS according to attorney Sandra Spurgeon of Spurgeon Law Group in Lexington,
Heard also has the option of filing for bankruptcy, which would eliminate the $10 million in compensatory damages, Spurgeon said. But she'd still be on the hook for the $350,000 in punitive damages, which generally can't be discharged in a bankruptcy.

Newsweek, legal expert, Mark Breyer, AZ attorney, said that he believes Amber Heard may have to file for bankruptcy if her ex-husband Johnny Depp wins his defamation suit against her. Heard could be forced into bankruptcy if her net worth is less than the amount awarded to Depp if he wins his case.

But when? OJ Simpson has yet to pay $33 million to his victim's parents.

reply

The victims don't want to push the issue with OJ, he's a free man now.
