I planted a new garden.

We're tilling this weekend. It's all veggies and we're looking forward to the canning season.

I haven't started growing weed yet.

Another good thing about winter: no need to maintain a garden.

I've started some cucumber seeds inside. It's still too early to plant outside here. Mostly just be veggies this year.

I did a bit of yard cleanup a couple of days ago. I wanted to get the leaves up that were covering the few plants I have before rain moved in. Yes, rain. It's been raining on and off all day today and we're supposed to get more overnight tonight and tomorrow night. Things are finally greening up after two years of drought. I don't think my front yard is going to come back, though. The past couple of years have been extremely tough on it. By early fall last year, the grass was so dry it had turned from brown to gray. But hey, the weeds survived! 🙄

The back yard did okay, but it's not in the hot sun all day long, either. Heck, I'll probably have to mow the back soon. Once the rain has passed for now, I'll be bringing out the patio furniture - after I clear all the twigs and branches off the patio. We've had quite a few very windy days here, so of course there is lots of tree debris that was blown out of the mature tree back there.

Oh, and of course the bugs are back like crazy.

The guys that built the Kingshed pub are currently building a smaller version for my daughter. Once it’s finished she can put her drum kit and guitars in there and also her computer games.

It will be where she can hang out with all her friends, so they can talk about girls stuff without daddy being in the way.

I tore out some boxwoods that had blight. They had also become overgrown and were choking out my wisteria. There is also another bush in the same area that needs to be removed but just might cut it down for this year. Most of my flower beds are the way I want them.
