Do you like school high?

I never liked high school until I started getting high in the morning before getting in the bus. Just a hit or two and I was good for the day.

reply

Did you know that in the UK, high schools are known as secondary schools. Just saying, since it’s odd that someone who is allegedly from the North of England uses so many Americanisms.

reply

His brain is too empty from all the puffing.

reply

I mean, if you’re going to create a backstory for the latest sock, at least make it plausible.

reply

"high school" is used all the time in the UK.

reply

Not where I live it isn’t.

reply

Manchester city council has a list of all their well... high schools using the term "high school"

the same can be said for every place in the UK, high school is used much more than secondary.

if you said in the UK people say "primary school" instead of "elementary" then yeah, or "playgroup" instead of "kindergarten" then yeah...

but "high school" is much more widely used than "secondary", that's a fact.

A sock coming to the defence of a sock - outstanding!

Good grief, it’s like playing bloody wack-a-mole, lol.

HAHA!

It does feel that way sometimes:)

reply

They’re not even decent socks. I mean, come on, at least make it a challenge 🤦‍♂️

reply

So you've been proven wrong and you can't come back with anything inteligent? you've just embarrassed yourself andy. maybe it's too hard to accept and you prefer the conspiracy theory that it's one person with 98 "socks"

reply

Honestly, I’ve never heard it referred to as a high school where I live. Maybe it’s a regional thing.

Ironic that you misspelled ‘intelligent’ though, lol.

reply

i can imagine the type of person you are, late 40s maybe from essex or somewhere in liverpool, that kind of place. goes to benidorm on holiday with his fat wife, a right little mouthy c-t, a know it all, who needs a good smack once in a while.

My user name might give a hint to my age.

If you check out my posting history, you’ll see I live in ‘Sunny’ Bournemouth and spend several months of the year travelling all over the world with my beautiful family (click on my username and you’ll see a nice picture of us).

As for the rest, well that’s entirely up to you to decide, however, I feel that life is too short for fighting - I’d rather have a beer thanks 🍻

reply

I thought the same thing!! Lmao

Americanization...

The first thing to know is that high school is generally referred to as secondary school in most of the UK, aside from Scotland. Unlike in America’s high schools, pupils go to secondary school from age 11, up until at least age 16.

reply

He might not be from England, but I don't think he's American either. Reading between the lines in some of his posts and replies, he doesn't seem to have an American mindset, meaning, he doesn't sound like he was socialized in the USA.

Still doesn't mean he's English for sure, could be from anywhere and just learned American English.

reply

I'm confused, is this a Benny parody post?

I thought it was a parody of this post: -

Ah, makes sense. I missed that thread. I thought you were claiming Benny was Stonekeeper's sock.

reply

Not at all. Just that Mr Board flooder was a sock of many socks.

Funny... such a simple post sparks an argument. Only here at moviechat.

reply

I only got high if I had a study hall or elective the first couple periods. Didn't like school, but tolerated it and did satisfactory or better. Most teachers were decent, while only a couple I remember as being dicks.

reply

One day, and only one day, I took 6 ritalin at school. I got them from a kid I used to bully. Anyway, I was the top student that day. I think my teacher knew I was high as shit, but he started treating me differently after that. Probably realized I had ADD or something, and it wasn't my fault I was a bad student. I'm not really sure. I don't think there's any chance he's still alive, so I can't ask now.

reply

I hated high school. Mine was full of idiots, cliques, sluts, trailer trash, and dumb townies' kids. Speaking of getting high, I knew two boys who loved smoking weed illegally in the bathroom (this was the early 2000s) before class, so they were always laughing stupidly at everything and eating like pigs in the cafeteria, despite both being skinny.

reply

Yeah, that was me.

reply

You had that problem too? A smarter-than-average introvert surrounded by morons and bored with the work?

reply

Oh, no, sorry. I was the guy laughing stupidly at everything and eating a full pack of starburst during class.

reply

Sugar high, eh? :)

What really made me laugh was, during one of my English classes, the teacher had us write a paper on something that scared us [in real life]. I wrote about my encounter with a tornado a few years earlier. But one of the potheads made us laugh a lot because he and his friends were messing around in the woods in his story, and got scared by a mouse, hehehe. Moral of the story? Don't go poking around in what could be an animal's home in a tree in the woods. The stereotype I'd heard of girls being afraid of mice and guys not being afraid was kind of broken with that story, hehehehe.
