Movies where you wanted the bad guy to win

I wanted Ted Crawford (Anthony Hopkin) to get away with killing his wife in Fracture. Due to her cheating on him and when he describes the crushing feelings he has she says "I really don't think I can do one of these tonight."

I found him so likeable and the police and the prosecutor so dislikable, along with her, that I wanted him to win.

The ending is left open, so hopefully he did.

Any other movies come to mind?

I suppose you probably wanted Hannibal Lecter to win in "Silence of the Lambs" (1991) too, correct?

reply

NO...BUT IN HANNIBAL?....YEAH...GOD DO I LOVE SEEING THAT MANIAC OFF THE LEASH IN THE WILD.

reply

Uh, probably Gerrard Butler in Law Abiding Citizen.

Apparently he was "the villain of the story" but I was still rooting for him.

reply

I HAVE OFTEN BEEN THE VILLAIN OF THE STORY...HE WAS EASY TO ROOT FOR....SOLID FLICK.

reply

They should've made him blow up a place with a lot of innocent civilians or have like school children's deaths caught up in a his revenge plan.

Ya know, something truly evil. But nah, the movie just wanted us to hate him for getting revenge on only those who wronged him.

reply

SICK,BRO.

I really disliked Yoda in Phantom Menace. Sanctimonious. Made me want to root for the Dark Side.

reply

I REALLY DISLIKED EVERYTHING IN PHANTOM MENACE...WELL...MAYBE NOT NATALIE PORTMAN...SHE NICE...BUT EVERYTHING ELSE.

reply

I remember seeing that original Dune movie at the theater and getting so sick of listening to Kyle MacLachlan’s character’s tribe think out loud that I rooted for Sting’s character to kill him at the end.

reply

THE ONLY THING I HAVE ENJOYED MR MACLACHLAN IN IS THE HIDDEN.

reply

I liked him in Twin Peaks.

reply

I STILL HAVE NOT WATCHED THAT...I HAVE SOME FRIENDS WHO ARE SERIOUS FANS TOO...SO I PICKED UP THE DVD SET...HAVE NOT WATCHED IT YET THOUGH.

reply

Orphan (2009)

So many of the characters were insufferable and I wanted Esther to kill them.

reply

Did you ever see "Orphan: 1st Kill" the Sequel?? It's pretty good on how they turned the tables on Esther in that movie. It's sort of a Prequel/Sequel is how it's billed??

reply

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - since that was the movie where the series went woke I wanted the Dinosaurs to eat all the hippy environmentalists.

reply

I never got around to seeing Fallen Kingdom, though, isn't it basically the 1st movie all over again with the Genetically Engineered Dinosaur??

reply

It was the 5th movie after Jurassic World and I only saw it in theaters once. I remember there were a bunch of hippies trying to get dinosaurs off the island but yes InGen engineered a dinosaur bigger than a T-Rex. I don't remember everything about it as I only watched it once.
