do/did you call your parents by their first names?
no, never.
shareOnly when referring to them in the third person to friends of theirs.
shareNope, never.
shareWhat kind of weirdo does that? Even my kid calls me dad.
Signed, million man.
No, never. And when I was a youngster we called our friends' parents Mr Doe or Mrs Doe. I sort of looked forward to the day when children would address me as Mrs G, but by that time, kids were calling friends' parents by their first names. 🤷🏻♀️
shareWell then
shareThose days are gone.
shareMY DAUGHTER'S FRIENDS CALL ME ALI'S DAD.
shareNo.
shareNever.
shareNo, and I only encountered such a thing once: The son of friends of my parents called his mom by her first name. We were around the same age. No explanation was ever given (that I can recall) other than that's what he always called his mom.

Never. Dumb concept.
