Name a movie where a character got a fate they didn't deserve.

Kevin Spacey in "Se7en".

1. Noah Newman (Tom Wood) - "U.S. Marshals." That one really hit me hard when I watched it.
2. Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) - "Rocky IV."

If he dies, he dies

Marie Kreutz in The Bourne Supremacy and James Reece in The Terminal List.

reply

Good call on Marie. It happened way too early in the second film too.

Who had the terrible fate, the woman who lost her ape friend, or the ape for losing his life?

reply

In the original, she never considered him a friend, hence the screaming and leg kicking every time he picks her up.

reply

Weird, I was remembering her feeling bad at the end.

reply

The remakes changed the dynamic between them.

reply

What would he deserve in "Se7en" in your opinion?

reply

Suffering in jail because he wanted to be killed.

reply

Major Duncan Heyward and Alice Munro in The Last of the Mohicans

reply

Jaws.
Quint had a fairly good fishing vessel and all of the gear to kill that giant shark.

He went out fighting though.

reply

The boat itself had a fate that it didn't deserve.

The Wrath of Khan - Spock dies for saving the ship.
Generations - Kirk is done dirty by the studio.

reply

I like the way Spock died in Wrath of Khan, and it's a shame they brought him back. He died on his own terms, sacrificing himself for the crew.

But I hate the unceremonious way Kirk died in Generations, and it's a shame the studio didn't undo *that* death.

reply

Shatner wrote a book, The Return, (maybe a ghostwriter) that retcons the end of Generations, where his body was beamed aboard a cloaked ship and revived. His fate is not revealed until later when he tracks down Worf, Data, and Geordi.

reply

For all the crap that Shatner gets, that honestly sounds better than what we ended up with. It still sounds like a fudge, but at least it's an attempt to get around the undignified way Kirk was 'killed' in Generations.

reply

Spock actually died at Nimoy's request. He had no intention of returning to the role.

reply

Money can make the unpalatable much easier to swallow.

reply

Arlington road - Jeff Bridges

reply

Good choice.
