How has Michael Jackson survived cancellation?

Has he really? Have a look at his profile here and find me a thread where the allegations are not mentioned at length. They’re synonymous with his name now, which I’d imagine is the exact opposite to the legacy he would have wanted to leave.

You can’t really cancel what he’d already achieved artistically though, it is what it is.

I dunno. R.Kelly's achievements aren't really shining through.

God took care of that already

MJ was innocent, so there.

So was OJ.

Um, hello; he died in 2009, 7 years before the Woke Era started. Plus, even before that, he had powerful people protecting him in Hollyweird, even when the pedophilia lawsuits came out.

Not to mention the fact that most conservatives didn't listen to his music, and therefore, had no reason to cancel him back in the 80s & 90s because he never played a part in their lives to begin with.

The "Woke Era" started in 2016? Can you explain why you believe that? How do you mark the beginning?

reply

Like Elvis he had such widespread popularity that most people just let it go. Although I don't hear about him as much as I used to so maybe people have woken up or his music just wasn't that good to begin with.

Michael has his hard core fans, and then is generally liked by most, even if they won't publicly admit it. That adds up to a big segment of society.

Plus whenever I see a video of his concerts, there's a lot of comments from kids and teenagers saying they wish they were born earlier.

So he still is making new fans.
