We have post limiter (the one that says you post too soon try again later thing) but what we need is create thread limiter (like maybe once a day?)

I mean, look at all those nonsense threads made by just 1 person!

reply

Completely agree. Personally, I don't like seeing any more than two of my own posts on the front page at any given time, To me, it's just polite etiquette and gives other posters a chance to speak.

reply

Moreso if the threads are just undecipherable bollocks like what we have now.

reply

Unfortunately, quite a few posters enjoy the insanity.

reply

Looks like I am the only one in life who craves a closure to certain things, a satisfying narrative and a desire for others to indulge me as opposed to give me a hard time, shove harsh truths into me, tell me that you think I am stupid and embarass me for either not always following rules or not having a perfectly logical mindset.

But I guess it's all up to us really. Plus, I often feel that life is complex and has a philosophical approach to it all etc. But if you feel it is more simple then fair enough.

reply

How often do you participate in threads that you didn't start, or in those that make no reference to you?

reply

I have a positive relationship with you and we have shared lots of fun PMs, but your obsessive philosophy and constant questioning of things seems to tire a lot of people out.

The answer to most of life’s BIG questions are: get a good job, romance an attractive woman you love and rent an apartment together…the house and babies will soon follow, that’s a given.

There is NO need to complicate this pattern Amigo.

I believe that you are a genuine person and NOT a troll but you often bang on about the same few topics and some users are a bit over it.

I know several fine people that go to see therapists, I see no shame in this and I’m all for it. Talking about your concerns with a trained expert can really help.

Not a word of this was meant in jest or to be ‘snarky,’ I genuinely like you. Just be well Friend, someone to talk it all out with might be of great use👍

reply

Actually, I have been in therapy for years but it is for other things. 😀 But don't worry, even I in here was going over past emotions that I am sure by now has in real life situations had died down.

reply

Just take care of yourself.
NO bad thoughts, keep seeing the Therapist, they really do help people.

reply

And I guess lessen the Internet activities too.

P. S. Hope no one holds a grudge. 😀 Including for my past long posts in trying to satisfy curiosity or get a grip on reality. 😀

reply

No grudge here Pal, we get along fine.

reply

Maybe start your own Facebook group...

reply

I don’t like the idea of limiting threads.

reply

Me too.

reply

Neither do I.

reply

Agree. As long as someone isn't violating https://moviechat.org/standards, have at it.

If someone is being a troll, report them if you wish and ignore the thread.

reply

About 50% of the stuff on here violates the written rules. Reporting does nothing. That would hinder the hits/traffic on here if the rules were to be enforced. More traffic means the website gets pushed higher up in search engine's results. The higher up it gets pushed, the more traffic it brings in. The more traffic it brings in, the more ad revenue comes in.

reply

whatever it takes to keep the place operating.

reply

Several threads a day, one each on different film boards, is definitely not a problem.

reply

Never gonna happen. Why bother torturing yourself over the thought of it. You already know who/what/why creates most of the traffic on here.

reply

It's Jim!

reply

definitely not. use the ignore function.

reply

You mean "The R_Kane" function?

reply

Yes. I like that. Otherwise known as......

reply

No, no limits to thread creation.

Did you start this thread because of me?

reply

No.

reply

BTW... that comment limiter that says "Sorry, you're doing that too fast" is easily skirted by hitting the back button and then refreshing the page.
