More fanart -- check it out!

As an ardent fan of the character Sherlock Holmes, I recently decided to draw four actors as him who, in my opinion, portrayed him the best. (I called this endeavor of mine “The Case of the Four Best Sherlocks,” haha.) I just finished the last one and have uploaded them all to Flickr. Check them out and let me know what you think!

Also, to give you all an idea of what’s coming, here are some characters and celebrities I have lined up to draw: The Mandalorian with Grogu (this one’s next), actress Danai Gurira, actress Vera Farmiga, Tom Branson from Downton Abbey, Fox Mulder from The X Files, Walter White from Breaking Bad, Regina Mills from Once Upon A Time, Xena: Warrior Princess, Captain James Kirk from Star Trek: The Original Series, Darth Vader from Star Wars, Sister Jude from American Horror Story: Asylum, actor Vincent Price, actor Vincent d’Onofrio, actress Kate Winslet, and Dottie Hinson from A League of Their Own. :)

Very nice. I remember your earlier post from last month. Impressive.

I am very happy to see the much-deserved praise and support you are receiving. May I induce you to render 2 more strong women whom I like: Sandhal Bergman as Valeria, Queen of Thieves, in Conan the Barbarian, and Andrea Martin as Sister Andrea in the Paramount+ series, Evil. Both are EXCEPTIONALLY STRONG, ferocious women with hearts of pure gold and spines of pure Carborundum steel.

reply

I believe you meant to reply to me. :) Yes, I would be happy to draw those characters. I'll add them to my list and start on them as soon as possible!

reply

Thank you very much!

reply

Cool. Who is the first one?

reply

I think the first four are all Sherlock Holmes.

reply

The top four drawings are different actors who've played Sherlock Holmes. From left to right, there's Jeremy Brett, Basil Rathbone, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Jonny Lee Miller. :)

reply

I can tell they were Sherlock, but I never heard of the first guy.

reply

You've never heard of Jeremy Brett??? He's the ultimate Sherlock Holmes! I strongly recommend his tv series.

reply

I don't watch much TV, maybe that's why.

reply

He was also Freddy, Eliza Doolittle's suitor and Professor Higgin's rival, in My Fair Lady.

reply

For future discussions, the only musical I will ever talk about is "The Lion King".

reply

I dislike the movie myself (same goes for The Lion King!), but it's a classic. You do know it stars Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison, right?

reply

Yeah. I just avoid musicals. I've hated almost all of them. "Grease" is the worst culprit.

reply

That one does have a few catchy songs, though.

reply

"We go together
like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong".

Pass.

reply

Better than listening to a guitar solo that lasts over 10 minutes!

(There's a KISS song playing on tv while I'm typing this!😆)

reply

Very impressive!
I didn’t recognize Miller but only because I never watched that version so I don’t know the guy.

Keep it up👍

reply

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that. I would recommend checking Miller out. He gave the character emotional vulnerability and relatability while maintaining the character's eccentricities, and did so very well.

I will! 😊

reply

I’ve heard very good things about the series, I need to catch up.

I always favored Rathbone, he seemed the coolest to me but it’s like the James Bond question, ‘who was the best Bond?’

My sister-in-law LOVED the newer Sherlock so I’ll check it out soon, she’s pretty good at rating movies and shows

Thanks!

reply

Jeremy Brett was the best Sherlock

reply

Agreed.

reply

Nice! You are very talented.

reply

Great work! I look forward to seeing more.

reply

Really nice drawing style!

reply

Good job.
