I don't know if anyone else here knows but a year ago I got a pm from Dewey's girlfriend. A few months before he died Dewey made a certain deposit. That deposit resulted in a baby girl. Born after his death. She must be around two years of age now.

Did not know that. Growing up without him is a bit sad but I’m glad he left his legacy. He deserves it.

The Pin emojie lets us all know this an important thread and will be at the top of the first page for several days because people should be aware of the info in the thread

Also (and as a side note) you sometimes respond to the former poster when you want to reply to the thread starter

HAVING SAID THAT, I agree, and this is to myself, to get myself immersed a little LESS in either too difficult, controversial or otherwise tough issues including from "other sides" and including in MOVIES too, and also, to learn and type a little less, be a little less prolix.

As Anton Pavlovich Checkhov once said, a classical Russian writer, over 100 or so years ago - "Shortness is the sister of talent".

Thank you, hownos! I always felt so sad about Godewey’s death. He was such a nice presence on MC. He was always friendly and kind in his comments. I’m so happy to hear he had a daughter and his girlfriend is doing well. Terrific news.

Unfortunately, I would not expect any kind of update...unless someone here has some kind of private communication with Dewey's partner. We must be content to know that we were privileged and honored to have known him through MC.

I readily admit that I wonder too, but I just hope his daughter and Dewey's partner are doing well. The fact that his partner took the time to tell us about him and the then-expected child was a step many folks would not have taken.
