Why is child rape so common in Hollywood?

Because sometimes sectors can become a safe haven for deviants. For example, high school was a safe haven for female sexual predators, and clergy was a safe haven for pedophiles.

It's pretty popular everywhere. But Hollywood is a place where you keep your mouth shut in order to further your career. So the kid shuts up, the parents shut up, and everybody else shuts up except the blackmailer.

Rape is rare, what you're talking about is coercion and molestation.

Consent can be obtained with promises of career progression or threats of not getting a part.

While I don't like to push it to this length, I think just about any industry that works closely with children attracts pedophiles looking for easy pray. There's also a small increase in chance of children who get abused to themselves be pedophiles in adulthood. It may well be a case of self-perpetuating abuse.

If they would just cast ugly children, this wouldn’t be as big of a problem.

I'm not convinced that child rape is more common in Hollywood than anywhere else. Okay, I was up for jury duty last year, and it was a child rape case - a stepfather accused of having sex with a girl of 10-11. About 30 people were pulled out of the crowd and put into the pool of potential jurors, and out of those 30, 10 or so had stories about either being sexually abused when they were children, or being close to someone who had been sexually abused as a child.

So yes, there have been cases of sexual abuse and exploitation of minors in Hollywood, but it happens EVERYWHERE, and it's much more common than anyone wants to admit. In families, mostly, but also in schools or churches, wherever adults are around children. And if people are going crazy with conspiracy theories about Hollywood abuse of children, IMHO it's because they don't want to look too closely at their own communities. Or families.
